This sale will feature impressive blue and white ceramics, porcelains, prints, 18 th and 19 th Century bronzes and carvings, scrolls and jades from private collections all over the United States.

2 Fine Large Chinese Famille Rose Incense Burner with Wood Stand The mark, displayed on the rim, "Da Qing Jia qing Nian Zhi," places this piece in the Jia Qing Period of the Qing Dynasty. This piece is a bronze ding style used for temple ceremonies, such as birthdays, newborn, marriages or other celebratory events. This technique was originally done in bronze in the Shong Dynasty and was later translated into porcelain, as shown in this important and powerful piece. The Buddha symbol usually utilizes simple patterns, such as flowers. The color of this piece is exquisite, showing a high level of fine detail over a turquoise ground. 3 A Pair of Rare Zitan Wood Box Shrines with Eighteen Spinach Jade Lohans, from the Qing Dynasty The fine wood carving of these boxes is very good, showing symbols for longevity, with ruyi surrounding the alcoves, housing each of the Lohan figures. 18 Lohans, taken from Buddhism, is a very popular subject in China. Each piece is depicted in a unique pose, signifying power of the religious history. The green spinach jade is rare and used abundantly in this lot. The reverse of the shrines, displays an inscription dedication to the Imperial family by Wang Jai. Provenance: From a Distinguished Bay Area California Collector. 4 A Chinese Carved Soapstone Seal with Original Wood Box, signed by Wu Xi Zai, Qing Dynasty The seal depicts a detailed winged lion with cub, symbolic for happiness. It was published in ³Ming and Qing Dynasty Well Known Seal Book,² 2004, page 185. This piece was consigned by well known a California Bay Area seal collector.
