Recorded in June 2008 (JB) and May 2009 (SP), the latter on cow parsley TG Larvae live in

Seen on Cemetery A common species to be found about flowering shrubs such as hawthorn. Seen on Cemetery walk on 10 th June 2018 (JE). Found on spindle TG213089, 17 th August 2014 (SP). Very distinctive with teeth at the tip of the elytron (see Chinnery page 280) and probably widespread on a range of other trees and shrubs in the Cemetery. Recorded in some numbers visiting daisy (Bellis) and bramble TG in June 2007 (SP) and on Cemetery walk on 10 th June 2018 (JE). A very common beetle frequently encountered on hogweed flowers and bramble blossom. Large Flax Flea Beetle. A small, shiny black or dark metallic greenish to bronze beetle. Recorded by Tim Hodge TG on 26 Feb A tortoise beetle identified as this species was discovered on foliage of cherry laurel within the war graves cemetery near Dereham Road in late May (S.P) Adults of this species were seen on Cow Parsley TG on 5 June 2016 and also on our monthly walk on 11 June 2016 (SP). The latter were photographed by JB. Only the ninth site in Norfolk, but probably under-recorded, as it often feeds on Cow Parsley in the evenings and hides on the ground during the day. Adults of this conspicuous pest of Liliaceae have been found in the Memorial garden near the pond. A common species occurring in grassland, adults and larvae feeding on grass leaves. Recorded Aug 2005 (SP). Found in woods, forests and parkland in southern England. Seen on Cemetery

Adults are found usually singly on tree foliage in spring. Associated with trees, especially birch. Found (as a hitchhiker on a rucksack!) after our monthly walk on 11 th June 2016 (VB). Photographed by JB. A tiny weevil likely to be widespread and common in the Cemetery. One recorded at roadway edge east of burial chapel in June 2006 (SP). Lives on docks and knotgrass. Evidence of this weevil provided by galleries and adult feeding holes on foliage of beech hedge in the Memorial garden; Sept 2009 (SP). Recorded from garden adjoining the Cemetery (Helena Road) (JB & VB). Chequered Click Beetle. One recorded in area of scrub and tall herbage TG in May 2006 (SP). Recorded from Helena Road garden adjoining the Cemetery (JB & VB). Widespread in flower rich grassland. On rotten beech stump TG in July (SP) Only one modern county record although not a rare species (M.Collier pers.comm.) Recorded by Tim Hodge TG on 22 February 2019, and Martin Collier TG2108 on 25 Sep 1983 and 24 Sep Sep Also recorded more recently from Helena Road garden adjoining the Cemetery (JB & VB) Recorded from Helena Road garden

An adult of this infrequently encountered beetle was discovered on a trunk of silver birch beside the cycleway north of the burial chapel in late Sept 2007 (SP).The larvae develop in nests of the wasp Vespula vulgaris. 25 Sep 1983 and 24 Sep Very common species associated with herbivorous dung. Present in the Memorial Garden in early March 2013 when the rose beds had been very recently manured with horse dung. Melolontha melolontha Phyllopertha horticola Sericea brunnea Cryptophagidae Atomaria lewisi Attracted to m.v moth trap operated in Helena Road garden adjoining the Cemetery (JB & VB) Garden chafer. Adults often found on the ground after emergence, they also swarm about trees in open areas. Many about limes south west of Crematorium in June 2007 (SP). Seen on Cemetery Attracted to m.v moth trap operated in Helena Road garden adjoining Cemetery (JB & VB). Two individuals were discovered in a large spider web on a privet bush in the Cemetery in Sept Recorded by Martin Collier TG 2108 on Tenebrionidae Darkling Beetles Prionychus ater Recorded by Tony Irwin TG on 18 A Nationally Scarce (Notable B) species with about a dozen modern county records (M.Collier pers.comm). Tenebrio molitor. Mealworm Beetle. Recorded from Helena Road adjoining the Cemetery.(J.B &V.B). Associated with stored food so may not
