The range of traditional pendants is extensive and manufactured to the highest quality, providing affordable options for all customers. There are many pendants within this catalogue that can also be fi tted with energy saving globes. hoosing a chandelier Measure the height of your ceiling, the taller the ceiling the larger the chandelier will be required to fi ll this space. The size of your chandelier will also depend on the size of the room you are trying to illuminate, the larger the area the larger the chandelier required. For ceilings that are nine feet or higher, consider installing a chandelier with multiple tiers to fi ll in the space between the fi xtures top and the ceiling. While chandeliers provide a central focus they shouldn t be the only source of light in a room. Use accent lights on either side of the chandelier or over furniture pieces to provide adequate room lighting. e careful to consider any tables or furniture you are hanging the chandelier over. handeliers should compliment the room not overpower the furniture in it. hoose a chandelier that compliments the rooms existing decoration scheme, such as colour, modern or traditional. e creative, don t restrict suspending chandeliers to dining room tables, they look fantastic in stairwells, bedrooms and even bathrooms. Hanging a chandelier If you re hanging a chandelier over a dining table ensure that it is placed directly in the centre. For a dramatic look, hang the chandelier around 75cm 85cm above the dining table, this is based on a standard 2.4m high ceiling. Ensure that the globes placed in the chandelier are low wattage, otherwise you and your guests will be subjected to excessive heat glare produced by the globe. If the globe is exposed, not covered by a shade, then clear globes should be used. To set the mood, install a wall dimmer. This will allow you to alter the intensity of the light produced in the room and also save energy. great way to conceal the wire of chain from a chandelier is to cover it in attractive material. For the best results use cotton gloves, one dampened with crystal cleaner. To work the dust off the pieces caress the crystal with a damp glove and wipe it dry immediately with a dry glove. This combined with a light dusting every 6 months will keep your chandelier sparkling. If your chandelier requires a more thorough clean use the crystal cleaner. Switch off the light fi tting at the power board, cover chandelier generously and let it drip dry onto a towel below. lternatively once covered in the solution wipe with a soft cotton cloth. llow to fully dry before turning the light back on. Follow safety instructions on crystal cleaner bottle. Please note, never put the crystal from a chandelier in the dishwasher.
