With impressive energy cost savings (with short capital cost payback periods) over its ﬂuorescent equivalents, it is an ideal option to tie in with environmental management policies, requiring a commitment to energy reduction. The comes with a number of bezel, reﬂector, beam angle and colour attachment options and once installed, reﬂectors and colour attachments can be easily removed and replaced. This allows for lighting updates in-line with changes to room layout, new branding colour schemes or display rearrangement. IP65 rating can be achieved for use in bathrooms and wet areas and BSEN glare compliant variants are available for use in oﬃces. The also comes with a range of emergency and dimming options and is also compatible with a wide range of Dextra sensors oﬀering both presence control and daylight regulation allowing for increased energy savings and better return on investment. 11 TECHNICAL PTECDLED PTECSLED WARRANTY All Dextra products are supplied with a 12 month warranty for any defect that may occur with the product during this time. Any defect will either be repaired on site free of charge or the defective product may be replaced on a chargeable basis and credit given against defective product returned. The course of action taken will be at our discretion and dependent on the nature of the defect. The control gear within our high frequency and LED luminaires is further underwritten by our suppliers for a period of up to 5 years in total from the time of purchase. This comprises labour and parts for the ﬁrst 3 years and free of charge components only for the ﬁnal 2 years. PROTEC LED FR 8W GU10 luminaires and all Emergency LED ranges such as LED 3, EXI, HBE, OAT, OEZ, AME, OEH and TWS * are exempt from the 5 year warranty and are supplied with 1 year warranty only. PROTEC LED COB luminaires are supplied with a two year warranty for replacement luminaires only. All warranties are subject to correct use of the product and will be invalidated by misuse, for example incorrect installation or unsuitable environmental conditions. It is the duty of the customer to ensure that all relevant tests have been carried out prior to requesting site visits or replacement products, for example replacement of lamps, commissioning of sensors and inspection of external wiring. In the event that no defect is found with the product our costs for attending site will be recharged to the customer and credit will not be issued against returned products. 12 Consumable commodities such as lamps, starters and batteries are excluded from these warranty terms. Batteries are supplied with a twelve month warranty only. 5 year warranty on LED product ranges is subject to a maximum of 4000 operating hours per year and only applies where failures exceed the component manufacturers expected failure rate and lumen depreciation. This luminaire is only suitable for domestic, light industrial and industrial environments which are within the scope of EN Operating temperature = 0 C 25 C. If the temperature exceeds the drivers maximum Ta rating, there is a safety mechanism where the driver will either dim or switch off to allow it to cool (Unless other operating temperatures are specified in product literature). For the maximum number of luminaires that may be interconnected or the maximum total current that may be drawn by means of couplers provided for looping-in connection to the mains supply, confirm with specific manufacturers' data-sheet. The light source of this luminaire is not replaceable when the light source reaches its end of life the whole luminaire shall be replaced. LUMINAIRES FITTED WITH A MAINTAINED EMERGENCY PACK. IMPORTANT: When the mains supply is isolated, the output terminals can still be live if the battery is connected. Both mains and batteries must be isolated before servicing. This luminaire is supplied converted for 3 hour maintained emergency operation. Fitting should be installed in the usual way as detailed on the installation instruction leaflet supplied. A secondary unswitched live connection (L2) should be fed to the in-line within the fitting to supply a monitor live and for the battery charging circuit. The unswitched supply must be taken from the same phase as the switched luminaire supply. Once installed the integral/remote batteries must be commissioned. The battery cells must be connected to the emergency module (in some instances these are left disconnected for transportation). Batteries are connected either by a plug and socket arrangement or by connecting directly to the battery spade terminal. After making the unswitched mains supply live, the charging status indicator illuminates green to indicate that the batteries charging. Upon disconnection of this supply the indicator will extinguish and the emergency LED board will light. A period of 24 hours should be allowed before a full discharge test is carried out to ensure the battery is fully charged. A few repeated full charge and discharge cycles may be required to condition the battery to its maximum capacity. A maintenance sheet indicating testing intervals and duration is included and should be completed by the installation engineer after commissioning and issued to the customers maintenance department. The test record card should be completed at specified intervals to indicate that the full 3 hour duration is still being obtained. Batteries should be replaced once the rated duration can no longer be met. Excessive disconnection of the unswitched mains supply may result in premature battery failure or failure of the luminaire. There are no user serviceable parts in the module. Battery electrolyte can be harmful to eyes and open wounds. Care must be taken to avoid puncturing the case and allowing electrolyte to escape. If electrolyte touches the skin, flush with water. Do not incinerate batteries. DIMMING NOTES: Always wire the fitting as per the labels indicated on the terminal blocks.
