The artist in me finds inspiration from everything and everyone around me, then the designer-side works endless hours to develop that inspiration into a finished product. Island Charms started just that way. While living on St. Maarten I worked with visitors everyday. St. Maarten/St. Martin is one of the most popular vacation islands in the Caribbean, with it s dual Dutch/French nations, numerous soft sand beaches, night life and tax and duty free shopping. The visitors I met were always looking for something unique to take back home with them, both to remember their stay as well as share their stories with friends and family. The first St. Maarten/St. Martin charm was cast in jewelers brass with Rhodium and gold plating and sold in shops throughout the island such as Lord & Hunter, Shipwreck, AMA and others. Each individual charm requires its own mold and careful control is taken to assure the finished charm maintains the same precision as the original.

These models are the basis for all of the molds that are used to cast our charms. Each individual charm requires its own mold and careful control is taken to assure the finished charm maintains the same precision as the original. Once the charms are cast and cooled a lengthy process of hand polishing is done, and a sterling silver jump ring is soldered into place. The final step is the placment of the Swarovski crystal and, in the case of the gold charms, plating in 14 kt gold. Your charms are all cast in the highest quality sterling silver. Etched on the back of each charm you will find the.925 quality mark along with the island s name. Collectables should be just that: a thing of remembrance that remains as beautiful as the day you bought it. Island Charms are made to last.

All of our charms are beautifully packaged on a descriptive gift card that includes the country flag and a sentence or two about the heritage of the island, then sealed in a clear cellophane packet. The top edge of the cards are also color coded in gold and silver to simplify your inventory management. For retail presentation, a custom glass framed display for one to ten charm is provided. The elegant display can hang on a wall or requires only a minimum of counter space.
