1 BUYING GUIDE SILVERÅN Bathroom furniture CARE Wipe furniture clean with a cloth dampened in water or a non-abrasive detergent, then wipe dry with a clean cloth. All wet marks should be dried off as soon as possible to stop moisture penetration. The washbasin and mixer tap should be wiped clean with a cloth dampened in water or a non-abrasive detergent. Ceramic washbasins are resistant to most chemicals, except for strong acids and strong alkalis. Crushed marble washbasins should not come in contact with ammonia, acids, strong detergents, hair dye or chlorine. SAFETY Some of this furniture must be fixed to the wall with the enclosed wall fastener. Different wall materials require different types of fixing devices. 2 HOW TO CHOOSE Start planning your bathroom by thinking about the wall space you have available for a washbasin cabinet and washbasin, since this is the centre of most bathroom activities. The SILVERÅN series comprises washbasin cabinets of different sizes and storage capacities. After you have decided on the size of the washbasin cabinet, you can choose between white and light brown finishes. The light brown finish is not available in all functions and sizes see more detailed information on pages 3 and IKEA washbasins come in different sizes and materials. The washbasins suitable for SILVERÅN are made in ceramic. Ceramic washbasins have a glazed finish and are easy to clean. They have excellent scratch resistance and are very durable. All washbasins come with a water trap and strainer, with the exception of TÄLLEVIKEN and TYNGEN which come without a water strainer. The water trap is flexible and can be connected to both washing machines and dishwashers. 3. You can find a wide selection of washbasin mixer taps at IKEA. Choose your tap based on function and design. All taps come with a strainer kit, with the exception of OLSKÄR. All taps at IKEA have a water-saving device that uses 50% less water but ensures that water flow feels the same. GRANSKÄR, DANNSKÄR, DALSKÄR and ENSEN taps have a special function a cold water start that helps you save energy. Usually, you turn on an ordinary tap by lifting the lever straight up, which releases both cold and hot water. But often, the hot water does not reach the entire way out and stops in the pipes. When you lift the lever straight up on a tap with a cold water start function, only cold water is released, which reduces any waste of hot water. To release hot water, you lift the lever to the left. 4. The washbasin cabinets can be mounted to the wall with or without supporting legs. 5.
