2 The POWER of brands In 1950, at only 20 yrs old, Nino Cerruti took over the family business. He modernises the family weaving workshops and invests in two further factories in Milan. In 1957 the CERRUTI 1881 label is officially launched with the opening of a Parisian boutique, place de la Madeleine. The fashion house quickly becomes an internationally shining star. The life of Nino Cerruti is inextricably linked with cinema. Friend and stylist to the stars, his name shines in the credits of mythical films such as Bonnie & Clyde, Pret-A-Porter, Borsalino, Wall Street, Basic Instinct or Mars Attacks. The house dresses the biggest names in cinema: Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Sharon Stone, Michael Douglas, Clint Eastwood In 1967 Fashion House Emanuel Ungaro was born. Emanuel Ungaro acquired international fame by his sense of colour and mix of unexpected patterns, by the purity of his shapes and the insolence of the details.
