1 Leo the LEPRECHAUN Aditya P. Grade 2 My name is Leo I live under a rainbow. I am really, really green But I never get seen! I have a long, pointy nose, And short, stubby toes. I am short and tiny, I am cute but not shiny. I come out near Saint Patrick s Day, But I wish it was in May. I know a story that is told, That when I catch you, give me a pot of gold! ST.PATRICK S DAY Carter B. Grade 2 March 17 th is St.Patrick s Day The leprechauns may come to play On this day, you must wear green A pinch is what you ll get if none is seen At the end of the rainbow is a gold filled pot Take it from me, has a lot!

2 LEPRECHAUN DAY Akash A. Grade 2 The little Leprechaun is weird in a little bushy beard His mind is very naughty And acts like a hottie tottie! Always wear green at least a few, Or the mean bushy guy will pinch you. At the end of the rainbow, the bold guy always leaves gold. The Irish man is tiny And his belt buckle is shiny. Some people call him fairy, But he is really scary Lucky Leprechaun Siri C. Grade 3 I am a lucky man Dressed in green, Not many of me Have been seen! But in legends it s been told That if you catch me, I ll give you a pot of gold!

3 LUCKY LEPRECHAUN Emilia M. Grade 3 Lucky, lucky leprechaun, runs from here to there All dressed in green, except a golden bow in her hair! Climbing from flower to flower From night to day You can t catch me, Until I come on St. Patrick s Day! LEPRECHAUN FUN Manasa B. Grade 4 I saw a leprechaun standing by a tree And he went up as tall as my knee. Gold coins were jingling in his packet One flew into the air like a rocket. He wore a green coat, His shoes were smaller than a toy boat. I talked to him and asked if he wanted some food The leprechaun said, That would be good! A few minutes later I showed him my dog The leprechaun said, Wow, it s as big as a log. After some time the leprechaun had to go, To give out more gold coins, I know.

4 A MORNING SURPRISE Prardhana C. Grade 4 In the morning I woke up in my bed then there I saw it a leprechaun s head. What was this tiny creature doing right before me Dressed in his tiny green coat that I see! I ask him, Who are you? He replied I am leprechaun, Matthew. At first, I couldn t see you in your small cap I asked, Did you enjoy your nap? He nodded and said You have to make your bed I sat down in a chair Wondering where he came from and what was there! I was on my search for gold And there is a rainbow here I was told. But there isn t any so, so long friend On St. Patrick s Day, to you I have a letter to send.

5 LUCKY LEPRECHAUN Tanvi B. Grade 5 I can t believe what I saw at dawn right in front of me was a leprechaun He stared at me with his squinty eyes And straightened one of his many ties! I wasn t expecting company, he said In fact I just got up from bed! He had emerald green eyes and fuzzy orange hair And his mismatched shoes were quiet the pair! I invited him to walk with me He said he lost his glasses and couldn t quite see. So I sat down and just chatted with him, I learned a lot including his name, Tim. And even told me his favorite saying Even though I though he was just playing. His eyes shined as though his worst fear was gone He said, Leipreachan Lucky means Lucky Leprechaun.

6 The leprechaun trap Manav D. Grade 5 I was walking around the pond one day, Suddenly, something small came my way, It spattered gold and green dust, onto my jean, This, whatever it is, what does it mean? A tiny voice came from down below, Who are you, hello, hello! I bent down then, to see what was there, A small green man with great, orangish hair. I am the leprechaun, don t you see? I am the man who makes all things lucky! I stared at this sight, With suspicion and fright! And dashed to the house on the lawn, For I had to capture this leprechaun, I gathered the supplies needed for a trap, Some tools, I put in my small cap. I went back the way I came to my house, And saw the leprechaun riding a mouse I splashed water on him; we call it to douse, But he flew off with the small grey mouse.

7 Hey what was that for? he said, he said I m so sorry. Here, rest on this bed, I said. I made him a house of emerald and gold But the house was weak, it couldn t hold. I decorated it with paintings, books and some chairs, Also razors, so he could shave all his hairs. Wow this is fancy, this is neat! Now I need something for heat! I got him a heater as quick and as fast, He said, Good, now this house can last! There s one more addition. I said And I hung a gold coin over his head. He pulled on the coin as hard as he could, Making the house fall on where he stood. Now he was buried under the debris, And he attempted to flee. He struggled to get out, And started to pout, And suddenly Where d he go? I yell. And this was the story I had to tell!

8 A Lucky Day Prarthana P. Grade 5 I was strolling down the street, Where Lucky and Green lane meet. I looked down and what did I see? A little, green man staring right at me. He had tiny round eyes with long pointy nose, On his small feet were ten stubby toes. Spread wide across his face was a huge grin, Peeking out of his pocket was a clover attached with a pin! On top of his head was a green top hat, His green coated body, was nowhere close to fat. His soft little voice quietly squeaked, Sorry, my eyes are very weak! Let us chat together, just you and me, Under the rainbow, there is no fee. So I thought and thought if I should trust this leprechaun, Since he was just a human I stumbled upon. After contemplation, I finally agreed, So we walked down to the rainbow planting clover seeds. At the rainbow we climbed to the peak, We talked for a bit then played hide & seek. Before I knew it, it was time for me to go, But he told me to wait and went towards the rainbow. A few minutes later he returned with a huge pot Inside were many gold coins, a whole lot! He let me keep that pot that fine lucky day, And as I left, he wishes, HAPPY SAINT PATRICK S DAY!

9 The Scurrying Leprechaun Neil B. Grade 6 Today is a sad day, Because my leprechaun friend is going away. Tim was his name, And he wasn t at all lame. He is scurrying at this time of the day Across the streets and near the bay He was very bold, And had a lot of gold. He had blue eyes, And smelled like apple pies. He was with his friends then, Who were as small as plant stems. And they danced through the night, Before grabbing a bite. Finally, he disappeared into the clear air My! This was very unfair.
