SUMMER UNIFORM - TERM 1 & 4 WINTER UNIFORM TERM 2 & 3 White s/s blouse braided and monogram embroidered on pocket Long sleeve: white shirt Navy skirt: Box Pleat / panel skirt. Must be on the knee & below Navy skirt: Box pleat / Panel skirt Learners are not to interfere with the hemline shirts or skirts. Black opaque school stockings Plain White anklets (No secret socks) Black school shoes (lace up or buckle) Black school shoes School Tie Navy Blazer with monogram/school jersey MUSLIM UNIFORM Navy skirt: panelled Navy Ijar (no bootlegs or slits) and plain navy scarf (Optional) (Available from School) Summer blouse/ winter shirt as applicable Black school shoes School Tie and Navy Blazer (with monogram) for winter / School navy jersey. SPORTS ATTIRE School tracksuit School P.E. golf shirt School P.E. shorts. NB. COMPULSORY FOR P.E. AND ALL SPORTING ACTIVITIES / EVENTS. 2. APPEARANCE: * In keeping with the ethos of the school, learners are expected to be neat and tidy at all times. Shirts must be tucked into skirt and not folded in. The top button needs to be secured and the tie needs to be up against the top button. * Girls must ensure that their underwear is not noticeable through their shirts. (Avoid bright colours preferably beige & black) 3. JERSEY: Only plain navy pullover V-neck jersey is permitted. Jackets or fancy jerseys are not permitted. Sleeveless cardigans are not allowed. 4. HAIR: - No fancy hairstyles. - Short hair must be above the collar and well groomed. - Fringes must be above the eyebrow and neatly trimmed. Wisps are not allowed. - No fancy or elaborate hair accessories to be worn to school. Black clips must be worn to keep short hair in place. Only black, Navy scrunchies /bands may be used to tie back hair. - Hair worn below the collar must be plaited. If it cannot be plaited it must be worn in a ponytail. Layered hair must be Secured with 2 scrunchies /bands. - A plain, narrow black alice-band may be worn to keep hair away from the forehead. - Hair should not be tinted or highlighted. - No head gear to be worn eg. Caps, berets, skullcaps, etc. - No buns - No pouffes allowed - Hair extensions are not allowed

2 5. JEWELLERY: No jewellery is to be worn to school. A school regulation wrist watch and small stud earrings may be worn. Only one pair of earrings is allowed on the lower lobe. Rings, bangles, hooped earings and chains are not allowed. No body piercing allowed. Gold studs on teeth and tongue rings/studs will not be allowed. Religious chains and pendants are not allowed. 6. MAKE-UP: No make-up is to be worn to school. No lip-gloss / coloured labello is allowed. 7. NAILS: Nails must be short and clean at all times. No nail polish to be applied to nails. 8. EYES: No eyeliner (Kajar, eyeshadow, etc.). The wearing of colour contact lens is not permitted. 9. SCARVES Scarves must not be used to hide coloured / streaked hair. Scarves must be worn on the head at all times. 10. SCHOOL BAGS School bags with the Sastri College logo must be purchased by all learners. Available from Gem Schoolwear. No designer school bags will Be allowed into school. KINDLY NOTE: 1. ALL UNIFORMS TO BE PURCHASED FROM GEM SCHOOLWEAR THE ONLY OFFICIAL SCHOOL SUPPLIER. (GEM-PINE STREET/OVERPORT CITY) 2. The full school uniform is to be worn for all school functions and activities, including those functions where the school is represented by The learner at other schools. 3. Annual athletics, swimming gala, interschool and inter-zonal sporting events: School tracksuit to be worn. 4. The above requirements must be adhered to at all times while the pupil is at school. 5. Failing to comply with any one of the above will result in the learner being asked to remove the unacceptable item, which will only be returned to the parent after a valid explanation is rendered. 6. Uniform inspection will be carried out on a regular basis after assembly by form educators/management 7. Parents of learners in default on 3 occasions will be requested to call at school to rectify the situation. 8. School tracksuits to be worn at all school sporting events. 9. The tracksuit / tracksuit top is not to be worn with either the summer or winter uniform. The top button must always also be secured with the tie against the top button. School pants cannot be altered to have the bootleg style. The sides of the pants must not be slit. No headgear is to be worn e.g. caps, berets, skullcaps, scarves, etc. Muslim boys are allowed to wear black skullcaps only during the month of Ramadaan.
