11 THE LENS CATEGORY SUN SAFETY The Australian and European standards have five classifications of lens categories. The lens category refers to the luminous transmittance, or in layman s terms, the amount of sun glare that is filtered by the lens. All sass & bide sunglasses are either category 2 or category 3, this is the standard for fashion sunglasses. Both categories provide good UV protection.
