it scania truck gear is clothing for us who drive a scania, wherever in the world we do it. every year, we let both trucks and clothing face new environments, conditions and challenges.

2 it scania truck gear is clothing for us who drive a scania, wherever in the world we do it. every year, we let both trucks and clothing face new environments, conditions and challenges. or to make it simple: we will depict the culture we re part of the worldwide trucker community one place, person, family or truck at a time. for the 2014 spring and summer collection we went to valencia. runs in the family the area around valencia has been a place for international trade for 3000 years. it was the greeks who first established trade routes here, followed by the romans, moors and lately the hard working sedano and peris families. we will concentrate on the latter, simply because... well, they didn t have the pleasure of driving a scania back in 1000 bc. we went there to visit two families for whom trucking is more than a job it s a family passion. they apparently have trucking in their veins, but how come generation after generation chooses to take their place behind the wheel? how did it all start, and how have things changed since the family headmen first turned their keys and started their engines? sit back and let three generations of truckers give you their story welcome to valencia and the sedano and peris families. then get the full story at

3 meet the sedanos, the fastest talking family north of valencia and probably the nicest too. the four brothers miguel, josé antonio, bautista and fernando guided us through an ordinary day in the life of a sedano. together with grandpa sedano and his 23-year-old grandson the youngest trucker in the family we went from their home in puçol via the loading docks and down to the beach. if there is anything that characterizes this family, it is their love for their scanias the choice of truck for the family since miguel sr. bought his first back in 1987, a 450 topline. the sedano s scan the code and get to know this proud trucker family.

4 when i was 23 i got my license. we had a truck at home, at my parent s house. our whole life we ve been doing this non-stop, taking vegetables to markets. always. miguel sedano sanchís

6 this is boryana, our guide to the city. she is actually bulgarian but has been living in valencia for the past six years. but like most of us, her home is where her truck is. and that is on the roads between spain and germany in her deep red scania R420.

8 big truck. small garage. no problem. fernando parks his r620 in the garage with only a couple of centimetres to spare on each side.

9 what do you do after a hard day s work if you ve got 3000 hours of sunshine per year - you go to the beach. the beach in valencia is not only for sun chasing tourists, this is where families go to hang out, eat a little, play some football and just relax. the sedanos are no exception. miguel, fernando and the rest of the bunch pick up the kids from school, park the scanias for the night and stroll down to the never-ending playa. and this is where the first part of our trip ends and where we leave the sedanos for now, with the valencia skyline backlit across the bay.

10 the next day we left the trucker-crowded, concrete-heavy areas in the northern parts of the city and headed south. this is where the cargo on the loading docks in puçol comes from. here, amid the fields with tangerines, lemons and oranges, we met another passionate hard working family.

the peris family a 45-minute drive south of valencia surrounded by barren mountains, exuberant vegetation and endless citrus groves you ll find the city of manuel.

12 i ve worked with trucks from the post-war period to now. i started with a tractor and got my license to drive that. after the tractor we had a bedford, an ebro and then a pegaso. and after that a scania. since then we ve always been driving scania.

13 three generations of perises together. josé sr. 43, has been driving scania since he was 19, josé jr. 25, has been driving scania since he was 21, manuel, 76, has been driving scania for decades, and hugo jr. 5, who s certain he will be driving a scania when he grows up.
