1 The Era Connected Hair Show Date: June 10, 2017 Location: Diversity Thrift 1407 Sherwood Ave Richmond VA, Time: 1 p.m.- 9 p. m Prizes: 1 st place: $ 3, nd place: $ 1, rd place: $ Competition Details: Theme: This competition is about bridging together some of my favorite eras and recognizing original techniques in the hair industry. So simply put, we are going back to the basics. Taking the judges on a journey, you must include scenes from for 3 major eras while creating one of your own. Take some time to research and put your talent to work. Listed below are the four eras you must recreate: 1960 s 1980 s The Millennium ( ) Futuristic- This scene can be from whatever time you choose. This part of the skit will serve as a 20-point bonus. This is your chance to be as creative as you like! Contestants must include a year from each era in his/her skit (ex: 1962, 1985, 2001, 2087). The hairstyles, clothing, and music must be presented accordingly. While the use of color is permitted, it must correlate with the color trends of that time.

2 Contestants will be judged on the following: Technique Max 60 pts: 60 s scene-20 pts. Max (3 hairstyles will be prejudged) 80 s- 20 pts. Max (3 hairstyles will be prejudged) The Millennium-20 pts max (3 hairstyles will be prejudged) Presentation 40 pts max Wardrobe selection- 10pts Music Selection-5 Stage Presence- 15 Overall Presentation- 10 **Futuristic scene- Bonus 20 pts.** (1 hairstyle will be prejudged) Creativity- 10 Wow Factor-10 Total pts possible: 120

3 IMPORTANT: THE TECHNIQUE PORTION OF THE SHOW WILL BE PRE-JUDGED. AFTER REGISTRATION, THE JUDGES WILL JUDGE YOUR HAIRSTYLES BACKSTAGE IN THE DRESSING AREA. THE JUDGES WILL ALSO Competition rules are as follows: 1. The maximum time limit on stage is 10 minutes. 2. Each model will be given a badge for back stage and show entry. (badges must be worn always apart from performance) 3. All contestants must be licensed 4. No profanity will be allowed in music selections. (points will be deducted) 5. All dance routines should be tasteful 6. Each contestant will need to have all music on one CD, and another for back up. Music can also be ed to printraygestudios@gmail.com 7. All contestants will need to be on time for lineup and registration 8. Maximum of 15 models for skit. (2 reps and 10 models will gain entry for free) 9. Absolutely NO nudity 10. The judging will be based on a point system by a panel of professional judges. 11. Contestants who are late or miss registration, will not be allowed to compete. 12. Absolutely no persons are allowed in the competition prep room except representatives and models. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Otherwise points will be deducted. 13. Each contestant is responsible for providing all materials for his/her skit 14. Models and contestants must sign a release form for possible use for advertising 15. All prep should be done prior to arrival. However, there will be time allotted for last minute finishes. 16. A total of 10 hairstyles will be prejudged on the day of the competition. Contestants may create as many styles as you like. 17. Contestants may enter as a team but all profits will be given as a group. ALL CONTESTANTS MUST BE LICENSED.
