The MultiFlex + applicator is presently CE-cleared for treatment of leg veins, leg and facial telangiectasias, facial reticular veins, resistant port wine stains and venous lakes (FDA clearance is pending). Greater comfort Because the Ellipse MultiFlex + employs a new, patent pending SoftCool air cooling system, patients experience more comfort with the Ellipse Nd:YAG treatment than with many other laser systems applying contact or spray cooling. A focused stream of cool air efficiently removes excessive heat by pre-, peri and post cooling. When dealing with homogenous redness like PWS, rosacea or fine telangiectasias, I use the I²PL (PR or VL applicator). For leg veins or thicker telangiectasias I use the Nd:YAG applicator.
