Here you will find important information on what you need to do to maintain your registration with us and enter for examinations, as well as other useful guidance such as how to apply for recognition of prior learning. We make every effort to ensure that the information here is correct; however, each programme is different and changes are made from time to time. This guide will provide academic guidance to help you progress through your studies, including how your programme is structured. Your Student Manual contains the rules that govern your programme and your registration with us. We encourage you to refer to these documents regularly. SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL was established in 2006 and offers a world class level of training in an environment which nurtures education and learning. Operating from premises located in Windhoek, SHADONAI offers state of the art facilities in a stylish academic environment duplicating the real life occupational experiences as closely as possible. Tuition is personalized and presented by highly qualified trainers and facilitators with the aid of textbooks, learner study guides, notes, labelled diagrams and audio-visual material to include: power point presentations for the theoretical components. Practical classes take place in the form of demonstrations, peer evaluations, role-playing, case studies and simulations. Assessment and evaluations form an integral part of quality assurance throughout the academic year. 3 Admission The courses offered at SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL are designed to prepare an individual for employment in their field of study. The admission requirements for each area of study are different and will be elaborated on later in this guide. A student interested in applying may begin the process by completing the Enrolment Form. This may be obtained by calling the school office at (061) , or printing an application from or completing it online. The following documentation needs to accompany an enrolment or application and needs to be certified where relevant: Copy of Identity Document or Passport Two passport photographs Copy of latest school evaluation / qualification Copy of most recent transcripts at any other tertiary institution with aims to apply for RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) Required or applicable Study permit if not a Namibian Citizen Proof of English proficiency graded on at least a E symbol, as SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL does not provide ESOL Completed applications can be submitted electronically or dropped off at 25 Jordan Street, Pioneerspark, Windhoek. No application fees are applicable. Please do take note that documentation will not be returned to applicant once submitted. Upon acceptance of an enrolment, candidates will receive written notice. In addition, candidate will be required to complete a Training Agreement, Instalment Agreement and proof of arrangements for debit payments to the training institutions account. Applicants are strongly encouraged to visit our office to complete these documents with assistance. 4 Rules & Regulations Each programme that we offer is presented in accordance to Rules and Regulations set out in the Student Manual and Code of Conduct. This will be provided upon induction as well as an electronic copy. These documents contain the rules that govern your course with SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL. The Student Manual & Code of Conduct should be consulted throughout the duration of your course to prevent the event of misconduct and failure to meet requirements to successfully complete your tuition period with SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL. The Student Manual also provides information, among other matters, how we manage: Plagiarism Assessment requirements, offences and penalties Complaints and grievances Specific access requirements or disabilities Dress code and requirements from student on a daily basis throughout the tuition period All programmes are reviewed on a regular basis and updates are sometimes made, so a new version of the course specification is published in case of these reviews and alterations.
