5 INSTRUCTIONS: MELT & POUR GLYCERIN SOAP * Our melt and pour soap blocks can easily be made into artful bars. * Inspiration for is everywhere we look: internet, Pinterest, websites, youtube, craft stores. * Use our distinctive perfume and essential oils, and other additives to make pretty and unique soap bars. Great for gifts and a fun activity. 1) Cut the 1 lb melt and pour soap base with a knife into 1 inch cubes. You can melt less soap if you want, depending on your bowl and/or mold sizes. 2) Place in a microwave safe bowl. Cover. (A clear bowl is helpful). 3) Heat soap in microwave for 45 seconds and stir. 4) As needed, keep melting soap in 15-second intervals until your soap is fully melted. Stir between each interval. 5) The soap can burn (just like melting chocolate in the microwave). Keep watch on it, so it doesn t burn, boil over or get bubbly. 6) Add in fragragrance, essential oils or additive as it cools. Do not heat the fragrances or essential oils, as this can destroy the character or even catch fire! We recommend 0.25 FL OZ perfume or essential oil per pound of soap. This is a general suggestion. Some fragrances can be very strong and some are lighter. Dry additives may fall to the bottom depending how heavy they are. Enjoy experimenting; try to have the soap cool and thicken a bit before using the additives (like Jello making). 7) Pour into soap mold. The soap mold can be lightly greased with vegetable oil (your mold supplier may have tips). This will help release the soap. Pour directly into the middle of the mold for even filling. 8) You can spray the soap with alcohol to smooth out the surface and minimize bubbling. 9) Allow the soap to completely harden before removing from the mold, from 1 to 3 hours to overnight. Timing will depend on the size of the mold. This will give the soap the best definition. 10) To unmold, turn the mold upside-down and press gently on the bottom. Your soap should pop out.
