3 MODULE 3 CONTENT PREP, INFUSE AND NOURISH If you want your skin to look better and to treat those skin concerns that you have, then you need to follow the 3 simple steps Prep, Infuse and Nourish. This is ARTISTRY s approach to healthier, better looking skin. In order to improve your skin and maintain the health of your skin, you need to cleanse and tone, treat the skin concern and moisturise day and night. Why day and night? Morning skin care should focus on prevention and protection for the day and your night-time routine should focus on cleansing and repair. PREP products are cleansers, toners, makeup removers and shave products designed to clean skin and prepare it for treatment. It is important to cleanse your face day and night. At night we build up pollutants on the skin such as sweat and oil and this needs to be gently removed in the morning before applying your day moisturisers and makeup. Regardless of the time of day, you should also always cleanse your face after working out or working up a sweat, as sweat can clog pores and make acne worse. As a rule, remember to take your makeup off before bed and resist picking at your skin. A normal domestic bath soap contains ingredients to strip away oil and debris that is what they are designed to do. This can lead to our skin losing vital nourishment and hydration and result in dehydrated, dry and irritated skin. If your skin is oily, stripping away surface moisture and vital lubricants can lead to the skin becoming oilier as the oil glands think it is dry on the surface, and produce more oil. The ARTISTRY cleansers are all formulated to remove oil, dirt, makeup and grime from the skin without stripping the skin of natural and essential moisture. 5 The third step is NOURISH. This is to moisturise your skin morning and night. To seal in nourishing moisture and protect skin from environmental damage. This includes all of ARTISTRY s moisturising creams, lotions and eye treatments. Face Cream/Gel: Hydrates, seals in moisture and provides additional anti-ageing benefits. Available in different textures for skin types or preferences. Eye Moisturiser: Hydrates, seals in moisture and most provide additional anti-ageing benefits with formula designed specifically for use around the eye area. There are no oil glands around the eye area so a normal moisturiser is too rich for this delicate area. Using a moisturiser around the eye can lead to puffiness and irritated eyes. Your eye cream should be applied before your moisturiser, day and night. Day Hydrates, seals in moisture, protects and provides anti-ageing benefits. Youth Xtend contains addition UV protection. Often you will find that a customer might be using a cleanser but not a toner so there will be a gap to discuss. POWER SYSTEMS This includes serums and hero products intensive treatments that target specific needs and skin concerns. Why use a serum? A serum works at a deeper layer than your moisturiser as they are lighter in texture and are formulated to deliver results at a deeper level of the skin. They support the effectiveness of your moisturiser. They target specific areas of concern. A hero product could also be a mask or blemish treatment as they offer targeted and specific needs. When discussing and recommending the Power System, always refer back to their skin concerns. e.g. Mary, you said that you were concerned with the elasticity and firmness of your skin.
