3 Pads and tampons On your period, you need something that can soak up the menstrual blood. You get a choice from pads or tampons. There are many different types and brands of each one. Make your decision based on your lifestyle. If you do water sports or an activity that requires tight clothing, tampons are the way to go. Majority of girls who just get their period start off with pads. Pads are rectangular shaped and made from an absorbent material with a sticky side on the back. Shaving Depilatories How It Works: Using a razor, a person removes the tip of the hair shaft that has grown out through the skin. They work by reacting with the protein structure of the hair, so the hair dissolves and can be washed or wiped away. How Long They Last: Several days to 2 weeks Pros: Depilatories work quickly, are readily available at drugstores and grocery stores, and are inexpensive. They're best on the leg, underarm, and bikini areas; special formulations may be used on the face and chin. Cons: Applying depilatories can be messy and many people dislike the odor. If you have sensitive skin, you might have an allergic reaction to the chemicals in the depilatory, which may cause a rash or inflammation. Depilatories may not be as effective on people with coarse hair.

4 Waxing How It Works: A sticky wax is spread on the area of skin where the unwanted hair is growing. A cloth strip is then applied over the wax and quickly pulled off, taking the hair root and dead skin cells with it. The wax can be warmed or may be applied cold. Waxing can be done at a salon or at home. It lasts 3 6 weeks. Pros: Waxing leaves the area smooth and is long lasting. Waxing kits are readily available in drugstores and grocery stores. Hair regrowth looks lighter and less noticeable than it is after other methods of hair removal, such as shaving. Cons: Many people say the biggest drawback to waxing is the discomfort: Because the treatment works by pulling hair out at the roots, it can sting a bit as the hair comes off luckily that part is fast. How to prevent/remove acne Unfortunately, for most of us, acne is apart of puberty. Acne usually begins in the teenage years during puberty. Acne is a medical problem that causes outbreaks of blackheads, pimples and cysts. It is caused by hormones and can also be caused from the menstrual cycle. There are things we can add into our daily routine to prevent these. For example, cleansing your face everyday and using a cleanser particularly for acne- prone skin however just do this in the morning and night as over cleansing can lead to dry skin or irritated skin which could it worse. Use makeup which wont clog your pores, such as oil free or water based products and remove it every night. Remember not to pick or squeeze at pimples as it can scar or make them worse, no matter how tempting it can be. If your acne is not going away, you may want to see a doctor to prescribe something for it. This can be a very effective treatment for acne.
