1 27 th International Body Painting Contest It s with great pleasure that we can announce the : 32 st Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival 8 > 20/04/ and the 27 th International Body Painting Contest 9 > 18/04/2014 organised in collaboration with FARDEL Cosmetics ( CHINA AIRLINES ( For the 2014 edition, the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival will move to the Center of Fine Arts, rue Ravenstein 23, 1000 Brussels (bozar.be) This important Festival event, of which the reputation has spread far beyond our borders, gathers more and more international success each year; this thanks to the quality of its creations and the numerous participation of its candidates. The contest will take place every evening from 9 till 18 April 2014 and will be based on the theme LIVING PAINTINGS : the reproduction on a body of famous painting; ranging from Magritte and Da Vinci to Dali and Munch. The candidates will have total freedom in the creating of a world famous painting on a human body. The participants will execute their body painting in the festival village, at the Palace of Fine Arts ( Every Body Painting will be photographed and judged by a professional jury. You ll find herewith the description, the regulations, the unfolding of the event, the list of attributed awards and the application form (also available on our website We hope to see many of you at the festival and thank you in advance for your participation. 3 DESCRIPTION The 27 th edition of the International Body Painting Contest will take place from 9 till 18 April 2014 in Brussels Center of Fine Arts, rue Ravenstein 23, 1000 Brussels, Belgium. Every evening, one or several candidates execute their Body Painting between 5.30pm and 9.30pm in front of the festival audience. Pictures will be taken of the creation and submitted to a professional jury, who will pick the winners at the end of the contest. REGULATIONS The contest is open to semi-professionals, make-up school students and amateurs. Candidates will be selected based on one or several colour pictures of their creation or a sketch of the actual project + some photo examples of previous existing creations. Body painters / make-up artists will have 4 hours to execute their creation. The entire range of FARDEL Cosmetics ( products are generously put at the disposal of all the participants to give them the opportunity to realize their creations under the best circumstances. Use exclusively the products of FARDEL Cosmetics ( paints, creams, fluids and spangles. The use of any other product is strictly forbidden. You can complete your work by using accessories and costumes created for the occasion. One contestant per model and only one assistant may be present to help during the application of prostheses and accessories. They can not, in any case, participate to the body painting. Wearing a string is obligatory for the models. The contest starts every evening at 5.30pm and ends at 9.30pm. An order of appearance will be established as much as possible in function of the availabilities of each candidate (give us 2 to 3 possible dates). We ll contact you to communicate your date of appearance. The artist and his model will parade on the podium of the Body Painting before the public screening of 10.pm. Pictures will be taken while the Body is submitted to the jury. Deliberation of the jury on Saturday 19 April Attribution of the prizes on Saturday 19 April 2014 at 9 pm. Attention : The professional jury will judge the quality and technique of the body painting. Please do not use too many prostheses, costumes or accessories that will cover up your work. 4 UNFOLDING of the EVENT This is a preliminary schedule, still subject to change. A definitive schedule will be mailed to you when you re selected and an updated version (if necessary) will be given to you when you arrive at the Palace of Fine Arts. Arrival of the participants at the Festival Palace of Fine Arts, rue Ravenstein 23, 1000 Brussels 5pm : 5.30pm : 9.30pm : Meeting of the participants with their model to explain the unfolding of the event. Handing over of the Fardel Cosmetics products you requested when you subscribed. Start of the Contest = start of the body painting. End of the body painting pm : The models will pose for the official photos. Attribution of a case of FARDEL Cosmetics. The models can then take a shower and the artists can gather their material.

5 THE AWARDS 1 st Prize FARDEL Cosmetics A case of FARDEL Cosmetics products with a value of +/ CHINA AIRLINES A duo plane ticket for Asia (taxes excluded) An original autographed silk-screen print of the poster of the "32 st Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival" offered by the Festival. 2 nd Prize FARDEL Cosmetics A case of FARDEL Cosmetics products with a value of +/- 500 An original autographed silk-screen print of the poster of the "32 st Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival" offered by the Festival. 3 rd Prize FARDEL Cosmetics A case of FARDEL Cosmetics products with a value of +/- 400 An original autographed silk-screen print of the poster of the "32 st Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival" offered by the Festival. Other Prizes Every body painter will receive on the evening of the contest : A certificate of participation A case of FARDEL Cosmetics products with a value of +/- 250 to 300. Other prizes can still be added to this list...
