2 Welcome to The Black Pearl Angus Bull and Female Sale hosted by Glenn and Mel Sisson of Royal Angus Farm. The Royal Angus program has been producing quality Black Angus breeding stock for over five decades and supplying seed stock to commercial customers and purebred operations throughout Canada and around the globe. Sisson Brothers are pioneers in the Angus breed and have built stepping stones for younger breeders to take advantage of and further their futures. The true strength of the Royal Angus program is the cow herd and experienced knowledge. Five decades of selecting and building cow families that have a high degree of predictability has resulted in the power of the program. Mel once said We don t need any of those skinny arsed cows, we want barrel, chest and hip because we are in the beef industry. And that s what makes this breeding program tick. After fifty plus years, common sense and breeding knowledge dictated breeding decisions and through five decades, there has been plenty of changes in breed type. Glenn will tell you that you cannot breed cattle in a classroom...it takes experience; but everyone should be prepared to make a mistake or two. The 2016 lineup for The Black Pearl is stellar, both in bulls and females; powerful in genetic makeup, and complete with lots of hair, thickness, ruggedness and soundness of foot and limb. In the offering of bulls, there are power bulls to add performance, calving ease bulls for those who are restocking heifers and a few bulls that will fit both pastures. The females offered are direct daughters of those great cow families... highly maternal with several having competitive tendencies. Of course, the youth incentive program comes with these great heifers. The Angus breed is in the forefront of the livestock industry. Never has a breed of cattle offered so many of the right things in one package... hardiness, maternal and motherhood, udder quality with milk, great foraging ability, conversion on feed resulting in awesome carcass values. For the next decade, demand for Angus and Angus influence females (restocking North American cow herds) is inevitable and theses females will bring higher premiums because of their Angus genetics. This past fall, Angus sired stockers have continued to bring added premiums at markets throughout the nation for those who used Angus bulls; while their sisters have gone into replacement programs. March 13th is opportunity day...a day to capitalize on the experience and hard work of Mel and Glenn by selecting your next herd bull or bulls; those looking to add female numbers to their program, the selection will suit all types of herds and budgets. Feel free to stop by the farm at Ridgedale any time prior the sale and see the bulls in their natural environment, where you can view the cow herd and see the mothers. Plan to come early, view the offering and be guests for an Angus roast beef luncheon complete with hot and cold refreshments. Chris Poley Youth Incentive Program The Black Pearl breeders believe our future lies in our youth of today. We will be offering purchase bursaries on all our 2015 born heifers on the following scale: 4-H Club Champion $ H Regional Show Grand champion $ Provincial Junior Angus Show Grand Champion $ National Junior Angus Show Grand Champion Half the Purchase Price (with a maximum bursary of $10,000) The Black Pearl breeders must receive written confirmation with an 8 x 10 color picture of the winning heifer by November 1, The heifers must be purchased in the name of the Junior on the day of the sale.

We guarantee full satisfaction upon delivery or he goes home! Our Bull Guarantee All the bulls will be semen tested and will have a complete reproductive examination prior to the sale. All cattle selling are sound, right and sell with a responsible breeder guarantee. In the event of any unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions, standard with the Canadian Angus Association shall apply. No compensation or credit shall be given for physical injury or mismanagement. Our goal is to get your cows bred! Our Female Guarantee All calendar year heifer calves are guaranteed open at the time of sale. Any animal that has not proven herself a breeder within six months after date of sale, if in healthy condition, may be returned to the seller at the buyer s expense. The seller reserves the privilege of trying for a six month period to prove the animal a breeder. The seller, at his option, may either return the purchase price to the buyer, credit or replace the animal with another of equal value in full settlement and satisfaction of all claims. All complaints regarding breeding difficulties must be reported in writing by the buyer, along with a duly assigned veterinarian certificate, to the seller within the time specified above and any animal returned must be free from disease and in good health. Any calendar year heifer calf flushed by purchaser is no longer guaranteed a breeder under this paragraph.
