2018-04-18 What s Happening This Stockholm Art Week - Totally Stockholm Now that spring is here again (almost anyway), Stockholm Art Week is also returning for 2018.

2 What s Happening This Stockholm Art Week - Totally Stockholm Now that spring is here again (almost anyway), Stockholm Art Week is also returning for SAW is the week when Stockholm s galleries, museums and artists highlight their work with new exhibitions, parties, events and special programmes that take over the city s art world. We picked out some of the highlights. Bonniers Konsthall Bonniers Konsthall has free admission for all of Stockholm Art Week, so you can check out their current exhibition by Lap-See Lam and Olle Norås. The winners of the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation grant, Lap-See Lam s work uses digital media to explore food and ritual amongst the Chinese Diaspora, while Norås focuses on woodland-inspired paintings. The museums also offers multiple free daily tours this week. Bonniers Konsthall, Torsgatan 19 Vassa Eggen Vassa Eggan s new POP T/ART series continues with the work of Klara Kassman. Kassman s work consists of various different techniques, collage, oil, watercolour and more, used to explore her feelings and emotions from everyday life, like entries from a diary. The opening takes place on Thursday between 17:00 and 21:00. Vassa Eggen. April /6

3 Supermarket Art Fair Supermarket is the art week s international adventure, an art fair that features the work of artists from over 30 countries. This year one of the highlights is Russian art, with three major entries from the country, Elektrozavod from Moscow, Dom Gruzchika from Perm, and Gallery ч9 from Murmansk. They re also at a new venue this year, having moved to Slakthusområdet. Supermarket Art Fair, April, Slakthus 5, Slakthusområdet Skomakeriet Skomakeriet this year hosts the exhibition Trigger-Happy by American-Swedish artist Gabriel Loeb. A theatrical exhibition which plays with reality and illusion, Loeb searches for ways to 3/6

represent empowerment and confident expression. Skomakeriet, Högbergsgatan 24. April 12-13 Fotografiska For SAW Fotografiska are teaming up with International photo fair Haute Photographie.

The Haute Photographie Stockholm exhibition presents work from eight international galleries and over fifty artists with artwork being available for purchase, and including two focus exhibitions on the past and future of photography. Fotografiska, April CFHILL The art hall in the 1600s palace presents the work of six artists based in LA for Stockholm Art Week. With LA drawing in artists today in the same way New York did in the 80s, this exhibition curated by Melanie Lum brings together some of the best work the cities new artists have to offer. CFHILL, Västra Trädgårdsgatan 9, April Market Art Fair Back at Liljevalchs for 2018, Market Art Fair brings together the best the Nordic art world has to offer. Visitors can view exhibitions, buy art and attend the series of talks planned for the fair. Market Art Fair, April 13-15, Liljevalchs Konsthall Spritmuseum A collaboration between the galleries Belenius, Elastic Gallery/Ola Gustafsson and Johan Berggren Gallery, and its hosted at Spritmuseum this year. Each of the galleries has put together a series of works from artists they represent for an exhibition that highlights art that deserves bigger audiences. The opening takes place on Thursday and is open to the public, but with limited capacity. 4/6

5 Monopol, April 12-15, Spritmuseum. Vernissage April 12, kl 18. HOBO hotel The rapper, filmmaker, artist and photographer Thomas OKOK Gunnarsson is making HOBO his home for Stockholm Art Week. His drawings will be on display in the hotel, and his studio will be in the lobby on Friday and Saturday. HOBO Hotel, April 13-14, Brunkebergstorg Färgfabriken Färgfabriken s new exhibition Children Of The Children Of The Revoltion explores the art of artists who grew up in revolutionary families, and they re having a party to launch it on Saturday.
