4 GALLERIES & ARTIST DISPLAYS ALL WEEK CALEB'S CHOP SHOP Caleb's Chop Shop has local artists' work on display all year long. Their urban gallery includes work by Collin and Hawk from Sector Seventeen - the artists who painted the mural on the south side of the Meridian Mill. 131 E. IDAHO AVE. MERIDIAN, ID TUES. - SAT. 10 AM - 6 PM page 3 SLYCEBOX JOANNE BEALL Joanne Beall is a local Meridian resident, mother, grandmother, and City of Meridian Volunteer. Joanne spends her retirement creating, painting, and entertaining her grand kids. Her painting medium is acrylic pouring (aka dirty-pour), and her paintings evoke emotion, sense of space, and one-of-a-kind uniqueness. 916 N. MAIN ST. MERIDIAN, ID TUES. - THUR. 11 AM - 9 PM FRI. - SAT. 11 AM - 11 PM SUN. 12 PM - 8 PM
5 DEJA BREW LAUGH A LATTE BARBARA WILLIAMS "After living in the Intermountain West for fifty-five years, I have a deep appreciation for rural life and the mystique of the American West. Photography has been a hobby of mine for 35 years. I love to work with intense color. Many of my photos are Idaho subjects as well as other Western themes. I enjoyed working for and receiving a certificate in Fiction Writing from the early day so of The Famous Writers School. Later I earned a degree in Literature from Boise State University, and as a result I have two novels and a travel guide in print. I often use scenes I have photographed for background and location in my novels. Several photos have won awards at the Western Idaho Fair. Literature, writing, and photography all work nicely together. There is a great deal of satisfaction in producing photographs others enjoy." 112 E. IDAHO AVE. MERIDIAN, ID MON. - WED. 6:30 AM - 8 PM THUR. 6:30 AM - 9 PM FRI. & SAT. 6:30 AM - 10 PM SUN. 6:30 AM - 3 PM Barbara Williams will be showing at Deja Brew Laugh a Latte from September - October. page 4 WALL IN THE HALL CHILDREN'S GALLERY Deja Brew Laugh a Latte invites local youth to submit artwork between August 29- September 3. Art will be displayed through the end of September. Barbara Williams Kory Kay Ramsey''s Traffic Box
6 INITIAL POINT GALLERY HOLLY BADKE Holly Badke s paintings speak from her life experience. She paints images of places, people, and animals she has encountered on world travels with her husband. She has been a member of the Idaho Watercolor Society which provides her the opportunity to study with outstanding artists from around the United States. Holly is also grateful to the late Will Nelson for the many techniques she has learned in his art classes. 33 E. BROADWAY AVE. MERIDIAN, ID MON. - FRI. 8 AM - 5 PM page 5 ZELLA BARDSLEY Zella Bardsley's works in sculptural mixed metals and mixed media are celebratory in theme. Her intent is to convey that life is meant to be an adventure, filled with the various emotions we are gifted with. Her work is completed with an oxygen/acetylene torch, plasma torch, and MIG welder. Her current work incorporates mixed metals, perforated metals, stoneware, and other mixed media for more texture and dimension. DARLENE LAURSEN "I love living in Idaho. Painting everything is challenging and greatly enjoyable. Every painting is a heartfelt reminder of someone, somewhere or something I ve had the joy of experiencing. My goal is to spark a feeling within the viewer that will connect them to the art." Holly Badke Zella Bardsley Darlene Laursen
7 POTTER'S TEA HOUSE SARA AYCOCK Sara Aycock is a stay-at-home mother of three by day and an artist by night (those close to her know she is a night owl). She enjoys spending time outdoors, especially in the forest, with her husband and children. Sara has always felt a strong connection to nature, and it is often the subject of her artwork. Sara uses her artwork to express her thoughts and feelings: "As I create art, it becomes part of who I am; as I share my art, it becomes part of who you are." 917 N. MAIN ST. MERIDIAN, ID MON. - FRI. 8 AM - 6 PM SAT. 10 AM - 6 PM SUN. 10 AM - 2 PM JORDAN SCHWARTZ Jordan Schwartz is a Meridian-based scherenscnitte artist. All of her pieces are cut by hand from a single sheet of black paper using only a straight blade Xacto knife, creating intricate and high-contrast images. She takes her inspiration from the beauty around our gorgeous state, and uses that to push paper to its limits. page 6 Sara Aycock Jordan Schwartz ARTROAMERS The ArtRoamers group showed up on the streets of downtown Meridian last year, seemingly out-of-the-blue. Their largescale animals will be placed around Potter's Tea House again this year. They won't be able to set up shop to feature their other artists' work, but you can learn more about all of the artists that make up their group and see more artwork online.
