1 _015 9 TH EDITION OF ASIA CONTEMPORARY ART SHOW ATTRACTS RECORD ATTENDANCE AND ART SALES Held September at the Conrad Hong Kong Hong Kong, Tuesday September 20 th, 2016: The 9 th edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show closed to wide acclaim on Sunday evening September 18 th. More than 11,000 collectors and art enthusiasts visited the Show over four days, an increase of 7% on the attendance at the 8 th edition this Spring. Art sales also achieved a record, estimated at HK$25 million based on an exit survey of exhibitors. We are delighted with the Fall edition of the Show, now by far the largest and longest-running art fair in Hong Kong in the second half of the year, said Director Mark Saunderson. Each event goes from strength to strength as we build our brand and buyer database we have a loyal following of collectors and art buyers who come to the Show in Spring and Fall, and each time we welcome a new group of younger collectors and art enthusiasts. Saunderson also noted that most exhibitors were very pleased with the Show. As well as achieving the highest sales result so far, we were excited to present such a diverse body of artworks from most countries in Asia, as well as Australia, Italy, France, Germany, and North and South America. Original paintings are always popular, and we also noted that interest in edition works and sculpture has increased considerably.

2 WHAT COLLECTORS AND YOUNGER ART BUYERS HAD TO SAY Wally Suphap Thailand/USA/Hong Kong: I found the art and artists very diverse both in terms of style and price range. The venue is very centrally located with gallery-like rooms. Overall, I loved the Show as there is something for everyone! Nicolo Bellotto Italy/Hong Kong: I attend your show every year and I really like it. I am an art enthusiast who buys contemporary Asian art in particular, and today I found a beautiful Korean artwork of ink on silk. The venue encourages interaction with the art, so I understand why you have been around for so many years! Aishah Jantan Singapore/Hong Kong: This is my first time attending this show and I really like what I see, I like the set-up. I was on the 40 th floor and I saw a piece that was spot-on and I knew I had to have it. My son received an invitation and I am so happy that be brought me along! Wen Hua Winnie He Australia/Hong Kong: This is my second visit to the Show. In Hong Kong, galleries are so scattered around town, but the Show makes it really easy for me to visit many galleries at once. And I love that it s so centrally located, I can have a meal before and after the Show right in the Conrad! Alex To China: I have attended your Show many times and for this edition I found some very interesting artists including a wonderful painter from Guangzhou and a very interesting artist from Australia. I was inspired to buy two works and I absolutely look forward to attending the next Show. Malavika Shanker India/Hong Kong: I am building up my small collection of Asian art, I have pieces from Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Korea and now Taiwan! Even after attending the Show for the fourth time, I find a great variety of art here. For me, its about discovery as much as it is about collecting and I always buy with my heart.

3 WHAT SOME OF OUR EXHIBITORS HAD TO SAY Souske Onoike Souske Art Projects, Japan: I am a first-time exhibitor in a hotel art fair and I find that the format allows me the freedom to control how I want to curate my space, put my personal stamp on it. I like the intimacy that the space provides to the wide range of people I have encountered. I look forward to returning for the Spring edition next year. Ala Leresteux Artist, Lithuania: I have exhibited in many European countries, but it is my first time exhibiting at a Hong Kong art fair. The people here are so curious, they ask really profound and probing questions about my art, which doesn't happen so much in Europe. I ve met such a range of people, from collectors and art dealers to art bloggers it s been a great experience. Sobrane Simcock Artist, Australia: Fascinating, exhilarating, inspiring! It s really wonderful being here. Dr. Eva Morawietz MO Industries, Singapore: There aren t many galleries around that focus on photography we are actually one of the few. I found people here at the Show are very interested in the medium and asked a lot of questions. It has been a great networking experience and a very useful way to get the word out on photography. Robert Mason Beijing Central Art Gallery, China: The people I ve met at the Show have been really enthusiastic to learn about and see previously unseen artworks from new, up-and-coming talent from China. We have even seen collectors who travelled to Hong Kong just for this Show! Seeing art off a white pedestal or white wall, gives the visitor an idea as to how it would look at home. I am really glad to be a part of this Show.

4 Jonathan Macey Macey and Sons Valuers and Auctioneers Limited, Hong Kong: This is our second time exhibiting at the Show in Hong Kong and it s been busier than last year, our best fair yet! I m a big fan and I always recommend the Asia Contemporary Art Show. We also participated very successfully in the inaugural edition of Singapore Contemporary in January, and will join again next January. Charles Chiu Artists in Taiwan, Taiwan The range of visitors to the Show is so diverse, which I love. You have young people who come and want to engage and learn about art, as well as seasoned collectors like acclaimed designer Alan Chan, who was happy to take home one of our sculptures. I think it s really wonderful how open and welcoming this Show is. I guess that s why I have exhibited here five times already, as well as Singapore Contemporary this year and again next year! UPCOMING EVENTS The 10 th edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show will be held March 17 to 20, 2017, at the beginning of Hong Kong Art Week and the most important time of the year in Hong Kong for collectors, galleries and artists. The fair welcomes more than 80 galleries from Asia and the world to Hong Kong, and will again be held at the conveniently located Conrad Hong Kong. The 2 nd edition of Singapore Contemporary and the inaugural presentation of Photo17 Singapore, at the heart of Singapore Art Week, takes place January 19 22, 2017, at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.
