1 Scandinavian trends 2014/15 TRENDS WHAT ARE TRENDS? Trends are the general direction in which something tends to move Trends can be defined as a change in behaviour and as a chain of events As we live in a global world with access to an inexhaustible source of information through the Internet we are affected by a huge variety of trends.

2 Scandinavian trends 2014/15 TRENDS ARE DIVIDED INTO THREE CATEGORIES Long-term trends related to clear changes and opinions in the society. For example, environmentally aware produced products, sustainability factors and CSR. The influence of economy and politics is also vital for these changes. Mid-term trends that most of us follow for some years, it could be style in interior design or shapes in fashion. Short time trends that only specific groups in society chooses to identify with, here you could find a vide variety and you need to be very familiar to identify the specific trend.

3 Scandinavian trends 2014/15 TRENDS INFORMATION To find out and find information on trends, there are several options to sources: Internet (blogs, facebook, BB?, pinterest etc) Trend institutions Magazines international and local To visit international fairs is often the best way to get a picture of the specific trends on different markets. Competition and brand leaders?

5 Nature continues to inspire. The rural becomes more decorated. Qualities are mixed with contrast textures for added dimensions. We are seeing the continual melding of high fashion and eco responsibility into a new urban folklore. There is a Scandinavian influence with an aesthetic view of design where modernist form meets function. Beautiful simple pieces made in the best materials, which stands the test of time. There is the rational and there is also the instinctive and imaginary, there is the power of colour and the calmness of monochrome. Scandinavian trends 2014/15

6 The tendency towards a minimalistic, beyond trend look is growing. We are longing for modern timeless items in our daily life, architectural shapes and trans seasonal fabrics in long lasting qualities. Colours are dense, natural and subdued Ceramic tones in ash greys, clay browns, sandy neutrals

8 There is a Scandinavian influence with an aesthetic view of design where modernist form meets function. Beautiful simple pieces made in the best materials, which stands the test of time.

9 Being close to nature, appreciating natural raw and unfinished products with a handicraft touch. Seeing ourselves as part of a global community that seeks inspiration from other cultures.

10 Raw and rustic, home spun yarns, straw, mixed and mismatched, tweedy materials, fur and felt, suede and natural vegetable dyed leather.

11 Blue tones and fresh turquoise colour range. Blue because water is a key inspiration, blue because it offers so many delicious hues when washed, blue because the importance of denim and fresh checks and stripes. It s everywhere and everything
