(i)(a) Ordinary Members :Those persons, Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), firms, joint stock companies, Co-operative Societies or corporations, who have exported leather for a minimum value of Rs.15 lakhs in the previous year, as evidenced by their Banker s Certificates. (i) (b) Nominated Members: Individual nominated by the Government on the Council or the Committees. (ii) Associate Members : Those persons, Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), firms, joint stock companies, co-operative societies, or corporations who are engaged in the manufacture, processing or conversion of leather for export or export of leather who are not qualified to be enrolled as Ordinary Members. NOTE : Leathers includes tanned and semi-tanned hides and skins, semi finished and finished leather of all kinds, footwears of leather including non-leather footwear and their components, leather apparels, leather articles, bristles, casings, fleshings, shavings, intestines, catguts, sutures, dressed horse, buff and goat hair, buff and cow tail hair, preserved stuffed specimens of birds and animals. 18

20 Procedure to become a Member in CLE An applicant shall have to produce the following documents for becoming a member of the Council. 1. Membership application form 2. Application Form for Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) 3. Membership fee through Account Payee Cheque / DD, in favour of COUNCIL FOR LEATHER EXPORTS 4. A self certified copy of GST Registration 5. A self certified copy of the IEC Number issued by the licensing authority concerned. 6. In case of Manufacturer Exporter, a self certified copy of Department of Industries & Commerce (MSME Certificate Part-II or Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum issued by MSME Department) / Industrial Licence / IEM issued by the licensing authority. 7.
