4 COMPANY HISTORY RADDISSHMe came into existence many years ago, as far back as 1993 fruit of a curious yet powerful combination of forces, and has since grown and flourished under the creative guidance of the founder, Ajoy Sahu. With a client list rich in leading global footwear brands, RADDISSHMe has consistently delivered innovative designs and concepts with lasting value. RADDISSHMe clients have included: Prada, DKNY, Paul & Joe, Kenzo, Miu Miu, Premiata, Terraplana, Replay, Ellesse, and many more After more than 8 years working in Italy, Ajoy began to spend more time in Asia working with some of the best manufacturers from China, Taiwan, Korea and Vietnam. Inevitably, the benefits of a close location to key suppliers, and the opportunities being presented by the world s most dynamic economy, led to the opening of the RADDISSHMe studio in 2008 in Guangzhou, Southern China. In 2009, Ajoy was joined at the helm of RADDISSHMe by his long time friend and fashion sales and marketing veteran Cedric Morée, uniting their international fashion and footwear experience to help build the business. RADDISSHMe has since reinforced its team with highly experienced development and sourcing personnel, aiming to get the best of each factory partner sees the RADDISSHMe team working with two new customers: Maserati, the Italian luxury sports car company; and China s leading premium fashion brand, JNBY. 4

5 BIOGRAPHY Born and raised in London, Ajoy Sahu left top footwear design school Cordwainers after the first year to become a bus driver as he was unable to pay the tuition fees. Two years of driving the Routemaster buses along Oxford Street, with thousands of people stepping up into his bus each day, was surprisingly influential, giving Ajoy a unique insight into different people s tastes in footwear. It was his colleagues at the bus depot who, seeing Ajoy endlessly sketching shoes in his lunch breaks persuaded him to start applying for jobs as a shoe designer. After sending out his updated portfolio, he was immediately called up by Rossignol and within two weeks Ajoy had swapped the crowded streets of central London for the beautiful mountain landscapes of Montebelluna, Italy. Immediately making his mark at Rossignol, he was subsequently head hunted by Prada to design the first ever Prada Sport collections. He spent 4 years working on all Prada Group brands, including Miu Miu, Jil Sander and Helmut Lang, after which he joined forces with Premiata to launch their PR1 collection and also contribute to the classic collection. After working as freelance designer for other famous Italian brands, he moved back to London in 2003 where he led the relaunch of the Terraplana brand, turning it into a globally recognized eco-shoe brand that was named Ethical Fashion Product of 2007 by The Observer newspaper. At the same time he was being commissioned, under his design pseudonym RADDISSHMe, by a succession of leading international footwear brands. Designing collections ranging from ladies dress shoes to out-and-out sports performance footwear, sourced from both Europe and Asia, gave Ajoy and his growing team of designers numerous challenges and tremendous experience.
