2 THE GLCO STORY Garrett Leight California Optical, an independently owned eyewear brand founded in Venice Beach in 2010, is dedicated to creating the highest quality contemporary and classic frames handmade with the finest materials and craftsmanship. Garrett Leight was born in Venice in 1984 to the founders of the Oliver Peoples brand. Growing up in Los Angeles, Garrett was surrounded by eyewear and fashion, observing firsthand the making of his father s iconic designs. In 2009 Garrett opened his first eyewear concept store, A. Kinney Court in Venice, offering a unique assortment of hand selected goods from all over the world. Inspired by the individual characters of Venice and his passion to find the perfect frame for his customers, Garrett founded Garrett Leight California Optical in 2010 and released his first eyewear collection a year later. GLCO brings fresh perspective to classically tailored frames, combining luxury quality product, original designs and a classic style with a true California point of view for the highest quality and best possible price point. Our brand is inspired and expressed through artistic expression, original content, and the fashion, photography, music, design and architecture of our local surroundings. In just five years GLCO has become must-have eyewear for influencers and tastemakers around the world. Our brand has been featured in Vogue, GQ, Elle, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Monocle, and Esquire, which named Garrett one of Los Angeles & New York s most influential people. The 1100 square foot store features a custom shopping experience based on our online Modshop that allows customers to personalize their frames. The warm, minimalist space includes a serpentine garden of cacti and succulents with bench seating, an analog vinyl listening station and a lower level where GLCO will open the space to artists, musicians and events.

Leight s concept was to create a shop that features an optical gallery with exclusive collections and products that include shoes, bags, books, music, eyewear and prescription services. The boutique highlights an original assortment of vintage Oliver Peoples eyewear from Leight s personal archive as well his own brand, Garrett Leight California Optical.
