2 By that I don t mean the best anorak in the world or the most confident T-shirt, though we do make those, too. I began working as a designer in R-Collection in 2012 and fell in love with the son of the family that owns the company, my old friend, Olli. Olli s father, Pekka, founded R-Collection in 1978 because he wanted to make clothes that his group of friends, the cool kids, would love. Before his own collection, Pekka and his brothers had a clothing store called Rockville that catered to the needs of the 70s hipsters. Coolness and functionality LIFELONG COMPANIONS ARE FOUND AT R-COLLECTION have gone hand in hand since the beginning. R-Collection is all about these contrasts. We make clothes suitable for hiking that are loved by urbanites. We aim for extreme functionality while being determined in the pursuit of aesthetics. At R-Collection I have learned that the best things are simple. That anything is possible when you stay true to yourself and your vision. Now I would like to share with you the eight pearls of wisdom that guide us. First one, of course, being when life gives you a tangerine yellow anorak, wear it and embark on an adventure. 1 FORGET FASHION Instead of fashion, we like the other f-word better: functionality. Our most popular article is a classic anorak and it has been with us since the 1980s. It is the heart of our growing collection. Trends and seasons are not a priority when we design. We want you to put on our clothes, stop for a second to appreciate the functionality and beauty, and then forget about it and go do interesting things. There is no need to be careful with our clothes, life only makes them more beautiful. In addition to our classic anorak, we have a version that opens from the front. It is also available in a longer version. Trust us, we know anoraks.

4 HIGH NECK T-SHIRT 3 STAY SHARP We are particularly proud of our T-shirt collection. We are total geeks when it comes to cotton jersey and pattern cutting. We have taken our time and come up with the best T-shirt in the world. It has wide sleeves, loose-fitting unisex cut and the absolutely perfect crew neck. It s made of nice and sturdy fabric. 5 BOXY HOODIE SWEAT SHORTS FRILL SWEATSHIRT JERSEY FOR 4WORK AND PLAY Jersey we take it seriously so you can take it easy. We put continuous effort in choosing fabrics. Made in Finland, this tightly knitted, 100% cotton, heavy single jersey fabric holds its shape for years. We challenge ourselves constantly by designing new cuts and silhouettes for this iconic material. You can even go to a job interview wearing our sweatpant culottes. It is surrounded by uninhabited pine woods and dark forest ponds. The harsh conditions of the vast wilderness affect everything we do. We demand extreme functionality and durability from our clothes. A thick wool jumper needs to fit into coat sleeves. Fabrics need to endure the changes in weather as well as be washable.

8 BOXY SHIRT ANORAK SHORTS 6 STUDY THE OXFORD DICTIONARY (OF EASY LIFE) Speaking of work. We want to look smart and casual every day. This is why our button-up shirts and many of our cotton pieces are made using oxford cotton fabric. The durable basket weave structure consists of two fine weft yarns and a thicker warp yarn. The warp thread is different colour from the weft threads creating an almost three- dimensional surface. It doesn t wrinkle as easily as plain weave cotton fabrics. Clothes made from oxford cotton fit and hang beautifully on the body.

For us the biggest luxury is to be able to run, sail, dance and chop wood wearing the same clothes. Our clothes are cut in a comfortable, relaxed fit. Our silk t-shirt is beautiful and functional both in the woods as well as in the city.
