2 AGENCE PIERRE KATZ Pierre Katz is a typographer and a designer who specializes in brand visual identity. Our studio was founded on his cultural approach to brands and design. For the Houses that we often accompany for a long time, we have restored some brands to their former presence, we have exhumed part of their history many thought were lost, we have created brand identities that everyone can be proud to rally around, and labels that enhanced the status of the product they were dressing. The goal is always to create identities that enhance the material and immaterial patrimony of the Houses for a long time. Our expertise in typography leads us to choose meaning over decoration, substance over fashion, authority over graphic exploits, and to express the depth, variety and subtlety behind a wine s label in a way that makes everyone think it looks as though it has been this way forever. 2 3
3 PRESENTATION AGENCE PIERRE KATZ Our approach : empathy and culture. We define or restore brand identities to create sustainable, meaningful value. Our role is to listen and to understand the singularities of the brands through exchanges with our clients, whether they are hidden in the archives of the Houses or in the speech of their founders. Through a cultural and semiological approach to the brand, and through our expertise in crafting quality signs, we seek to enhance the value of our client s brands, by giving it presence, singularity and legitimacy. Our expertise : brand signs. The graphic identity of a brand is the physical restitution of its singularity and its values. To bring about this identity is the result of a method and experience that has been proven for over twenty years, combining the work of intelligence, eye and hand. We put together a specialized team for each project, so that the singularity of the brand is expressed with the same exigency and consistency through all its signs, images and messages. History and culture The first rule to creating value for us is to create signs that look legitimate. That is why History, little stories and culture are central to what we do. We seek to reveal the values and the temperament of each House through the study of their stories, whether they are century-old or brand new, and through the study of the historical and geographical anchorage of the House. Made-to-measure We compose and chisel each sign hundredth of a millimeter by hundredth of a millimeter, be it a name, an emblem or a coat of arms. We believe that harmony is a factor of impact, and only the precise balance of shapes allows us to bring about this harmony. No design Our only ideology is that of no design. We want to create transparent signs that stay relevant beyond styles and trends, we want to avoid the decorative in order to keep only what is meaningful and thus aim for the natural authority of quality. Precision We control the entire graphic chain, from design to production. We want to offer the highest quality and we hold ourselves accountable for the final result. 4 PRESENTATION AGENCE PIERRE KATZ Our team : talents, friends. Agence Pierre Katz is a family business that values personal relationships and a commitment to creations that last. Our team of multidisciplinary talents is driven by the same passion for culture, and the same quest for creating objects and signs that are meaningful. Hanna Pfestorf Designer Hanna Pfestorf is a designer and illustrator, a music lover and a flute player. She is German and a great fan of French and Italian cultures. A graduate of EPSAA, she practises her creativity and expertise in brand identity, packaging and web design. Renata Campisani Product and retail designer Renata Campisani is a product and retail designer, but also Italian and a great traveler, living between Paris and Barcelona. She holds a Master degree in Design and Production Packaging from ELI- SAVA in Barcelona and a certificate in Cool Hunting from Central Saint Martins in London. She has worked for Carolina Herrera, As Des Garçons, Viktor & Rolf, Diesel and Ralph Lauren among others. Pierre Katz Joséphine Katz-Trataris Sabine Roux Isabelle Caparros Designer typographer and creative director General manager Consultant in brand strategy and discourse Production consultant Pierre Katz is a typographer and designer who specializes in brand identity. He practices his art with the patience of a craftsman, the fondness of an esthete and the rigor of a brand man. He has worked with Moët & Chandon, Dom Pérignon, Remy Martin, Ruinart, Hermès, Sonia Rykiel and Alaïa to name a few, working in close partnership and accompanying brands for years as a «guardian of signs».. Josephine Katz-Trataris is inhabited by the enchantment of culture and by the exigency of coherence and transparency that signs her generation. After studying at Sciences Po Paris and a first experience at LVMH and L Oréal Luxe, Josephine decided to join her father in order to create a responsible family business with a cultural vision of design. Sabine Roux was educated at ESSEC and the Ecole Normale Supérieure, and worked for 13 years at LVMH, on strategy at the head office, and marketing and communication at Dom Pérignon, Zenith and Sephora. She lends her pen, her strategic intelligence and her humanistic culture to the Houses we accompany to nourish and inspire them. She has worked for Hermès, Baccarat, Bonpoint, Champagne Bollinger, Sofitel Legend and Hotel Meurice. Isabelle Caparros is an expert in materials and craftsmanship, she is passionate about art editions, printing and packaging. Isabelle specializes in producing excellence. She has worked as a production manager in Paris, London and Mexico City for some of houses and institutions such as France Culture, Center des Monuments Nationaux, Musée du Quai Branly, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Galliera Museum, Princess Tam-Tam, Renault, Countess of Barry
