3 Kanya King, MBE will be hosting PCA 2017 Kanya King, MBE We are delighted to announce Kanya King, MBE will be hosting The PCA 2017 at the 5-star venue: Intercontinental London The O2. Kanya King, MBE is an internationally renowned entrepreneur and founder of the MOBO Awards. In 1996, she was given just six weeks to set up the very first awards show and 18 years later it still holds the distinction of being one of the most televised urban music awards shows in the world today, reaching in excess of 400 million viewers across over 200 countries. Kanya has always been an innovator and has had a lot of practice at persuading people to come round to her way of thinking. Kanya was influenced by her father s advice to be the best you can be and it was that advice which motivated her to start contributing to the family finances from a young age. She is an iconic inspiration to budding female entrepreneurs and music lovers worldwide, creating a brand that recognises, motivates and inspires talent on an international scale. MOBO has become much more than just an awards ceremony - it s now an iconic, yearround, agenda-setting brand encompassing everything from a live tour to a TV channel and website, while offering training and guidance to several generations of aspiring singers, MCs, DJs and producers. In addition, Kanya has received numerous honours for her business and community achievements, including an Honorary Fellowship at Goldsmith s University and a Doctorate of Business at both London and Leeds Metropolitan Universities. She is also an honoured patron of Music at the City of Westminster College. Kanya is a board member of the E2E Exchange, an entrepreneurial network along with Richard Branson and Duncan Bannatyne. Now running from 6pm to 4am, the awards will be in the nation s capital, moving to the new 5-star venue: InterContinental London The 02. The Professional Clothing Awards is an opulent red carpet gala dinner, dance and awards which brings together the who s who of the Professional Clothing industry, celebrating its very latest innovations and achievements. Attended in 2016 by nearly 400 industry professionals, the Professional Clothing Awards is a key networking event bringing together designers, buyers, suppliers, procurement managers, industry figures, key press and media to recognise and celebrate the latest achievements within our industry. Taking place at the 5-star hotel located next to the 02, the awards will take place on the 21st June 2017 in the Riverside suite overlooking the River Thames. Arriving on the red carpet in their finest, guests will be greeted with a champagne reception, before sitting down to a three course dinner with the stunning view of London and Canary Wharf. The Awards ceremony will follow, recognising the hard work of the individuals and companies in the clothing industry pursued by a live catwalk and speeches from the very best industry figures. 4 The Networking Event of the Year Your Toastmaster Ruben Lynch Reuben Lynch is one of the leading Toastmasters with a career spanning over 20 years. Hosting major worldwide events, Reuben s experience is very diverse. Reuben is a former British Army officer; Mess Manager where he is responsible for serving Royalty, top military officers and other civil luminaries in the country. Reuben lectures at the University College Birmingham instructing on event management, manners, etiquette, protocol and cultural awareness. A former conference and Banqueting Manager, Reuben is the Founder and President of the Circle of Toastmasters and therefore the perfect host for the Professional Clothing Awards. We are very excited to invite Reuben Lynch to be our Toastmaster for the Professional Clothing Awards 2017 in London Intercontinental The 02. Our PPE Innovation of the Year Award will recognise the latest advantages in the PPE sector, and the Supplier, Manufacturer and Distributor Awards explore the many different facets of support to the industry with categories such as Major and Boutique contracts, Fabric Innovation and advantages in supporting IT development for our industry also sees the return of our addition of the Made in the UK category which celebrates home grown talent. Our Industry Recognition Awards are a group of awards which celebrate achievement and longstanding support to our industry and also welcome new talent into the fold. Individuals and companies can be nominated for the Lifetime Achievement and Long Service to the Textiles Industry Award, and Project 20/20 and Beyond. The evening s events culminate with our highly sought after Business Manager Awards, which celebrates the success in the buyer-supplier dynamic.
