1 Dress standards and corporate wardrobe Updated 15 February 2010 Our corporate wardrobe and dress guidelines make it easy for you to look professional at work. And that s exactly the impression we want to create for our customers, visitors and others when they see you. - Coverage This policy applies to all employees, consultants, contractors and temporary (agency) workers in Australia of Westpac Banking Corporation. It does not apply to employees of BT Financial Group Pty Limited, Westpac Financial Consultants Limited, Westpac General Insurance Services Limited St.George Bank Limited or Asgard Wealth Solutions. You should read this policy together with the relevant sections of any Award or Enterprise Agreement that applies to you. - Wearing our corporate wardrobe Our corporate wardrobe We have a corporate wardrobe that anyone can wear if they want to. Depending on where you work, you may need to wear the corporate wardrobe as part of your role. The corporate wardrobe is made up of several different types of clothes. These clothes have been designed to: Suit various people Be comfortable for you to wear Make you look professional and smartly presented Help you reflect our brand to our customers. When the corporate wardrobe is compulsory You must wear the corporate wardrobe if you work in one of the following roles: Assistant Bank Manager 1

2 Bank Manager Banking Service Representative Branch Manager Customer Service Manager Customer Service Representative 1 or 2 Local Branch Manager, or Team Leader (Branch). If you work in any other role, then you don t have to wear the corporate wardrobe. However, if you don t wear the corporate wardrobe, then you need to follow our dress guidelines for more details see Wearing other clothes. When do I have to wear the corporate wardrobe? If it s compulsory for you to wear the corporate wardrobe, you must wear it whenever you go to work. This includes when you leave the office to go on bank business during work hours. You must also wear it to training courses (unless we tell you not to). Guidelines for wearing the corporate wardrobe When you wear the corporate wardrobe, you should follow these dress guidelines: Keep your hair neat If you are male, wear a tie Wear navy or black shoes. If you are female, you can also wear red shoes To prevent accidents at work, you should only wear shoes that have a closed toe and backing behind the heel Wear a skin-coloured camisole under your white shirt, if it is visible Wear sheer stockings (navy, black or skin-colour only) Wear appropriate jewellery Attach your name badge where others can see it. If you want to, you can also wear: Cufflinks Your casual polo shirt with jeans or casual pants on Community or casual dress days as designated by your People Leader. 2

3 Your business unit may have some specific dress and appearance guidelines which you will need to follow. If you have any questions, speak with your People Leader. Can I wear other clothes with my corporate wardrobe? When you wear the corporate wardrobe, you must not combine it with your other clothes. This is for the following reasons: According to the Australian Taxation Office, you need to wear the corporate wardrobe on its own if you want to claim your expenses as a tax deduction Our wardrobe has been carefully developed to reflect our brand. - Paying for your corporate wardrobe Compulsory for your role Do I have to pay for my corporate wardrobe when it s compulsory for my role? When it s compulsory for you to wear the corporate wardrobe, then you don t pay for it we ll give you the clothes for free. However, we will only give you one free pack with each corporate wardrobe offer. We may also give you a top-up pack for free. If you want to buy more pieces (e.g. an extra shirt or skirt), then you need to pay our current list price. Optional for your role Do I have to pay for my corporate wardrobe when it s optional for my role? When it s optional for you to wear the corporate wardrobe, then you need to pay for it. However, you can buy it at a discounted price. Each time a corporate wardrobe offer is made, you can only buy one pack of clothes at the discounted price. If you want to buy more pieces (e.g. an extra shirt or skirt), then you need to pay full-price for them. Tax deductions Can I get a tax deduction for the money I spend on my corporate wardrobe? You can claim a tax deduction for the money you spend on your corporate wardrobe. The registration number you need to use is CW63. - Losing or damaging the corporate wardrobe Lost or stolen clothes If you lose a piece of your corporate wardrobe or someone steals it then you need to pay to replace it. Work-related damage If your clothes are damaged because of a work incident, then we will pay to replace them. For more details, see Workers' Compensation. 3

4 However, we won t replace your clothes if: In the next 4 weeks, you re moving to a different role where it is not compulsory for you to wear the corporate wardrobe, or You have resigned. We may also pay reasonable costs to fix or replace your clothes if they are damaged at work for other reasons. In these cases, your People Leader needs to agree to pay for the damage. We won t pay for any damage to your clothes from normal wear and tear, or because you were careless with them. - When you change roles or leave Westpac Changing roles What should I do with my corporate wardrobe when I change roles? When you move to a role where it s optional for you to wear the corporate wardrobe, you don t have to return the clothes we gave you for free. If you want to, you can wear the corporate wardrobe in your new role. Leaving Westpac What should I do with my corporate wardrobe when I leave Westpac? When you leave Westpac, if we gave you a corporate wardrobe for free, you should return it so we can send it to our overseas charity. Just give your clothes to your People Leader when you leave. However, if you paid for your corporate wardrobe, you can keep it. But, we encourage you to donate your clothes to our overseas charity. If you want to do this, call the Corporate Wardrobe Hotline on (03) Wearing other clothes Guidelines for wearing other clothes When you don t wear the corporate wardrobe to work, then you can wear other clothes. However, you can t just wear any types of clothes the clothes you wear must satisfy our dress guidelines. You need to follow the dress guidelines so that the clothes you wear to work: Make you look professional and smart Reflect the right image for our brand Don t offend others Are tasteful 4

5 Don t cause an Occupational Health and Safety risk. To satisfy our dress guidelines, you must not wear the following clothes to work: Cargo pants Singlets Tracksuits Clothes with big slogans Leggings Short tops or revealing clothes Thongs. - Not following our dress guidelines Dress guidelines not followed If you don t follow our dress guidelines when you wear the corporate wardrobe or wear other clothes to work, your People Leader will: Remind you of our dress guidelines and explain why we have them Give you a reasonable amount of time to start following the guidelines (they will agree this timeframe with you) If you don t improve the way you dress, then your People Leader can send you home to get changed or give you a formal warning, which will be placed on your file If you still don t improve the way you dress after these discussions and warning, then your People Leader may take further Disciplinary action. Policy discretion levels The following outlines which policy elements are mandatory, subject to divisional discretion and local (subject to People Leader discretion). - Mandatory Complying with all requirements of the policy Wearing the Corporate Wardrobe in required locations and roles 5
