2 ANN MERIN BIOGRAPHY Beauty was always a passion but never a profession for Ann until she decided to do the unthinkable ignore her Ivy League business school education and abandon a 6 figure, corporate consulting career to enroll in Beauty School. Her goal was to learn everything she could about the beauty business from the ground up and to share that knowledge with the world. While training at Paul Mitchell in Orange County, California, Ann discovered she had a flair for makeup artistry and soon began styling photo shoots, weddings, and fashion shows and in 2007 she opened Beauty Heaven, a high end, full service salon in Orange County, California. While running Beauty Heaven, Ann began to share her knowledge as a beauty insider by penning articles for magazines and creating her own beauty blog called Beauty Daze ( She soon lent her fresh perspective to television with appearances on E!, TMZ, TLC and local news. Ann currently stars on TLC s Wedding Day Makeover where she teaches makeup phobic brides-to-be about beauty and helps them find their ideal wedding day look. She continues to contribute her beauty expertise to magazines, newspapers and television, and she is also working on a book about her real life (and often hilarious) experiences in beauty school. Ann has an MBA from Columbia University and is a licensed cosmetologist and makeup artist.

4 BEAUTY HEAVEN BIOGRAPHY ANN MERIN - OWNER The idea for Beauty Heaven first started when owner, Ann Merin, relocated from New York to LA and had trouble finding a new stylist. Though she researched and visited the top LA salons, she found that they all had different ideas on the right way to do her hair strategies that produced some pretty mediocre results. It seemed to Ann that the root of the problem was the indecipherable beauty code that all the stylists seemed to be speaking. Ann thought that if she could somehow crack that code and learn their language, she could get better results for herself and maybe even solve the issue for others. Eventually, this journey led Ann all the way to Beauty School at Paul Mitchell and to opening up her own salon in The name, Beauty Heaven, came from Ann s idea of what a perfect salon experience should be called. Beauty Heaven stylists are not only experts at hair, makeup and nail services, but they are also highly skilled in translating that beauty code into terms that their clients can easily understand. Beauty Heaven, located in Irvine, California, specializes in haircuts, hair color, hair extensions, Keratin Smoothing, makeup application, eyelash extensions and wedding hair and makeup design. The salon has won several awards and is currently featured on TLC s Wedding Day Makeover.
