3 ABOUT US Since 1840, Royal Coster Diamonds is known as the most trusted diamond polishing factory in the world. We have cut and polished many famous diamonds for Royals around the globe, such as Queen Victoria, Empress Sisi, and Queen Juliana. Located in the heart of Amsterdam, between the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum, we are a popular hotspot. One of our key values is that we want to educate the public about our beautiful craft. To do so, we created several tours and workshops to educate all our visitors about the mystical world of diamond craftsmanship. These tours vary from a brief (free) guided tour to extensive workshops in which you can become a diamond expert yourself. In this brochure we present these tours and packages. 7 A ROYAL EXPERIENCE Experience diamonds like the Royals do 12,50 Royal Coster Diamonds is the oldest diamond polishing factory in the world. Since 1840, Royals from all over the world traveled to Amsterdam to see our legendary craftsmanship. And today you can learn why during a private guided tour at the museum square in the heart of Am sterdam. Visit our four monumental 19th-century villas and see how we created beauty that lasts for centuries. For example, did you know we re-polished the famous Koh-I-Nor diamond for Queen Victoria of England and that we have it on display? During a private tour, your guide vividly tells you about the history of diamonds and how Amsterdam became the City of Diamonds. You dive into our rich legacy filled with Royal visitors, such as Empress Sisi, the Viceroy of China, King Rama V, Prince Napoleon and many, many more. During the Royal Experience, you will hear how diamonds are formed, cut and polished. You will see our diamond polishers and goldsmiths working their craft up close and personal. You can take a picture of yourself behind a real diamond polishing table and share it with friends and family while you learn why some diamonds sparkle more than others. Your guide takes you to one of our luxurious new showrooms where you can see diamonds in all shapes and sizes including our patented Royal 201; a unique diamond with more sparkle or *fire* than any other diamond in the world. Our diamond polishers have been renowned around the world for their unparalelled craftsmanship passed on for generations. Now you can experience what it feels like to turn a rough diamond into a beautiful sparkling brilliant during the diamond masterclass. During this masterclass, you get to sit down with one of our diamond polishers who will explain their craft. Most of polishers have been working here for decades and have some amazing stories that will not only educate you about their craft but also show you the side of diamond polishing you never see anywhere else. After this experience, you will see our collection of set and unset diamonds in a private room and will understand why royals from all around the world visited Royal Coster Diamonds to see the craft and purchase their jewelry. 15 DIAMOND MASTERCLASS DELUXE Polish your own diamond in the heart of Amsterdam 475,- Do you want to learn the craft of diamond polishing from the best polishers in the world? Then our Masterclass Deluxe is the perfect experience for you. This 4 hour experience is given exclusively by our best diamond polishers. They give you an in-depth Masterclass that ends with an official certificate. This workshop is for 1 or max 2 persons at a time. Your personal guide and master polisher welcomes you to our polishing factory. He or she starts the Masterclass Deluxe with a private tour through the Diamond Museum. The polisher tells you everything there is to know about the origin of diamonds and show you some amazing diamond artefacts. He or she shares some fascinating stories from their rich experience. After the museum tour, you sit down at the polishing table with your polisher. He or she explains about the (protected) craft of diamond polishing and the 4 C s of diamond valuation. After the explanation, it is time to polish your own diamond. While you are polishing, the master polisher gives you tips and feedback so you will polish your diamond perfectly. When you are all done, you can keep your diamond as a memento. After the Masterclass Deluxe you see an amazing collection of set and unset diamonds in a private showroom. Here you can apply your newfound diamond knowledge to these stones and you also have the possibility to buy a diamond or a piece of diamond jewelry. 16 CHAMPAGNE SURPRISE A fun and engaging group experience SEE BELOW The Champagne Surprise Tour is something we get asked for a lot at Royal Coster Diamonds by companies or exclusive parties such as galas and special events. It s a fun and informative experience and one of the guests goes home with a real diamond. Every guest gets a glass of champagne. In each glass, we have placed a real diamond or a cubic zircon (an imitation diamond). Nobody can see the difference between a real diamond and the zirconia, so we have one of our master polishers with a diamond loupe to check each stone. He or she determines which stones are imitations and which are real. Of course, only a few (or one) of the stones are real diamonds. But the guests can also keep the zirconia as a beautiful memento of the entire evening. While the diamond polisher checks the diamond, he or she explains a bit about the process of recognizing a real or a fake diamond. If people have questions about their own jewelry, they will be answered in a discreet and fun manner. This event can be held at our premises or any other venue of your choosing. The exhibition travels back in time and explains how diamonds were geologically formed into their final shape. It gives you an idea of how human s passion for diamonds developed and shows how diamonds have increasingly been associated with wealth and power. The collection displays historical crowns and famous diamonds are replicated to show how those with power used diamonds to carry out their status. Explore the crowns of Royals around the world and when you are done, try one on yourself with the Crown Yourself app. The Diamond Museum does not only present a historical view. It also has a stunning permanent collection with famous pieces, such as the glass-diamond Katana, the smallest diamond ever polished, and the diamond Ape Skull.
