2 The Biggest B2B International Jewellery Exhibition of South India The 10th edition of the Gem & Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE 14) was the biggest jewellery fair of its kind in South India and offered the best in Indian and International jewellery, machinery, and allied products under one roof. The opening was grand with traditional celebrations and a lamp lighting ceremony. GJIIE 14 was inaugurated by Sunny Chittilappilly, the Chairman of Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group and B.S. Keshava Murthy, Chief General Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Chennai. This mega trade fair was held from 8th to 10th February, 2014 at the Chennai Trade Centre. It was jointly organised by the Madras Jewellers and Diamond Merchants Association and UBM India. The highlight of GJIIE 14 was the three days of business that was greatly appreciated and well received by both the exhibitors and visitors. Over the last 10 years, GJIIE has grown in terms of exhibitors and footfalls. This has not only made it the number one trade fair in South India, but also the best platform to serve as a gateway to the South Indian jewellery market. The exhibition, witnessed a 20% increase in visitor participation (from over 200 cities) as compared to last year. Potential buyers and well known jewellers from Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Tumkur, Chennai, Coimbatore, Vijayawada and Trissur attended the event.
