The kaleidoscope of colors changes when lighting varies or when viewed from different angles. Due to the nature of shell, each piece is unique. Gem Case: Each case comes with a certificate of authenticity, the base is rhodium plated and engraved with the artists insignia. The interior finish is pearl finish with a unique fish tail or bivalve hinge and a magnetic clasp. A memorable piece for that special person; encase a piece of the jewelry from our collection or a special keepsake that will be treasured from generation to generation. Approximately standard size shown: 3.5 L X 3 W (8mm*7mm). To personalize your piece, custom engraving is available for an additional charge. Natural Abalone-Paua Case (H21) The Paua shell is known for its bluish green iridescent coloring. The colors change as light moves over the shell and the pearly iridescent finish replicates the natural interior finish of the species. This particular shell is so intense with color that it has been referred to as the Sea Opal. Historically it was used by coastal tribes in trading and fashioned into pieces of jewelry worn as emblems of wealth and status. Gem case shown with Rei Pearl Necklace (JN12).

It is hung from a piece of waxed cord which has the traditional slipping knot length adjustment at the back. JN7 Out of Africa This chocker has 6 strands of a combination of beads, Paua, large black beads, and square seed beads. The necklace is shown with three Paua shell rim drops. The clasp is handmade loop and Paua button, to finish off this thnic looking necklace. It looks gresat snugly fitting your neck. JN101 Tumbled Stack Paua Necklace This necklace is made from hand selected pieces pf polished tumbled Paua shell of graduated sizes stacked on top of one another. They are held together by sterling silver wire, handcrafted into a scroll design and hung from a silver colored chain.
