2011-2012 Loudoun Country Day School Dress Code Our student uniform is important to our mission and philosophy. Uniforms create an atmosphere that reminds our students that school is important. They also encourage individual students to see themselves as part of the whole LCDS community and thereby help promote teamwork and sharing. Uniforms promote school spirit and respect. While students in all grades are expected to adhere to the uniform guidelines, please note that middle school students (6 th -8 th grade) who wear clothing that is out of compliance with the school uniform, and do not have an explanatory note signed by a parent, will not be admitted to class. Parent(s) of offenders will then be called to bring to school appropriate clothing for their child. In addition, hairstyle and color, as well as jewelry and makeup should be appropriate and should not distract from the learning environment. Parent(s) of students in grades 1-5 whose uniform is out of compliance will receive a note from the office explaining which article of clothing did not comply with the school uniform policy. This note needs to be signed and returned to the office. On the third infraction, parents will be invited to a conference with the lower school director. All parents are encouraged to join us in supporting the virtues of a school uniform policy and to encourage our students to see its benefit. Please review this document very carefully so that you can ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for school. Parents are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to write their child s name on the tag of every item of clothing. Please check the lost and found periodically to find missing items. Please remember that logos with the exception of LCDS are not permitted.
