2017 Coshocton County Rabbit Skillathon July 29, 2017 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Jr. fair Barn Coshocton Co. Fairgrounds Sign up for a time slot at the extension office All members are required to participate in the Skillathon. If members attend the Coshocton County Rabbit Clinic on June 24, 2017, signed in and out they will ONLY be required to participate in the book review and interview. Members wishing to compete for Premiere Rabbit Exhibitor will need to complete Skillathon regardless of clinic participation. Members need to sign up for an evaluation time at the extension office. To study for the Skillathon, members should utilize the Rabbit Resource Handbook and their Project Books. Members will also be asked to recite the 4-H Pledge and the 4-H Motto. Watch for more information about the Skillathon on the Coshocton County 4-H Rabbit Facebook page and through email. Market Rabbit Pen of 3 Project Ownership Deadline is Sunday September 4th, 2017 You may check in up to 6 rabbits, on September 16th,2017. Each pen of fryers will be tattooed with the same specific number. Siblings may not switch or share rabbits. Each member will only be able to use the same pen with the same ear number and fill out appropriate paperwork on September 16th, 2017. If you are not able to attend the tattoo day you MUST contact Meg prior to September 16thto schedule a time to get your rabbits tattooed. NO rabbits will be tattooed after September 16th. Accepted Market Rabbit breeds include: o Beveren, Blanc D Hotot, Californian, Champagne D, Argent, American Chinchilla, Cinnamon, Crème D Argent, New Zealand, Palomino, Satin and Silver Fox. Members must bring their Market Rabbit Book/Livestock Record with them to finish their book review. o All pages that must be completed by September 16th to exhibit your market project at the fair, if not applicable put N/A Your pen of 3 will be kept in the same cage at the fair. o Fryers must weigh between 3 5 pounds, and be under 80 days of age. Fryers not weighing 3-5 pounds will still show in a separate class, and will not be eligible for champion. Weigh-in will be Friday night of the fair from 7 p.m. 9 p.m. in the Rabbit Barn.
