Sharon & Adam: At Ethos, we are known for our colour work so keeping on top of trends and the latest products available is essential to keep our business moving forward. Refreshing and updating our colour palette often is also the perfect way to inspire and get the younger clientele through the door. The three gorgeous new Vinyl shades have come at the perfect time! Though pale shades are still very popular,many clients are looking for richer shades with depth that offer the same contemporary feel as the Watercolors do. M: How do you recruit younger consumers? Although the grey coverage and paler shades are more popular with this age group they are becoming much more aware of the current trends and are in fact just as open to changing their look as the younger clients. All regulars deserve the same attention during consultation as new clients. Thorough consultation is key to helping clients express themselves through their hair. By spending a little extra time you may learn more about their lifestyle and interests i.e. art, music, fashion. This can inspire you to offer something more individual. M: What s your top tip on getting new clients into your salon? S & A: We think a personal approach is important. Desmond Murray made each step of the process very easy to understand, in bite sized pieces of information. Ella have recognised that age is not always a factor in colour, as Daniela thoughtfully says that personality is a key influencer when choosing a colour. In recent years, there has been an upsurge of older ladies looking for bolder and brighter looks, and younger clients asking for softer and more natural colours.
