ABOUT BLAKLADER FUNCTIONAL WORKWEAR, SHOES AND GLOVES SINCE 1959. WELCOME TO OUR FACTORIES Workwear is considerably more complicated to sew than regular clothing. It requires a greater artisanship, more exercise and a dif f erent ty pe of mechanical equipment. By owning our own f actories we hav e f ull transparency in production and can f eel secure our workwear is produced in a f air manner and that they liv e up to our high quality standards. Our first establishment in Asia was the f actory in Ho Chi Min in Vietnam. Then f ollowed the purchasing of f ices in Bangladesh and since 2006 Blaklader is based in Sri Lanka. This is where the big growth is taking place and today we hav e f iv e f actories in the country. All of our factories are certified to SA 8000, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. We hav e a code of conduct and social responsibility documented by all the rules. We think that things like transport toand f rom work, two meals a day, f resh water, medical centre and medical check-ups are important. Nev ertheless, f or us it is much more signif icantly and specif ic than that. The f actories are our own and our employ ees are the key to maintaining the high quality. Theref ore, we are constantly working to assist employ ees with childcare and other interv entions. OUR OWNERSHIP BEGINS WITH THE FABRIC Before the production of a new garment can be started,the f abrics and components must be purchased. In addition, this process is permeated by our quest f or f ull control. Unlike our competitors, we buy and stock our f abrics ourselv es to quickly be able to adjust production to changes in demand. With our own production f acilities and ownership of f abrics in stock, we get an unbroken chain that enables us to serv e our customers in a unique way. During production, constantly ongoing quality checks is carried out to av oid unwanted surprises. This philosophy, when it comes to ownership, responsibility and control, has resulted in a supply security of totally 97%. It is not about some small v olumes - each y ear we produce about 2 million garments in Blakladers production f acilities.

ABOUT BLAKLADER FUNCTIONAL WORKWEAR, SHOES AND GLOVES SINCE 1959. FULL CONTROL OVER WAREHOUSE AND DISTRIBUTION In the factory, at the end of the production lineawaits carton labelling. The labelling allows the central warehouse in Sweden to alway s know where the garments are until they reach the customer. Our central warehouse in Sv enljunga has an area of 40,000 m2, and the recently arriv ed cartons may be placed next to 19,000 others. Up to 3,000 garments are picked per hour. The order- and inv entory management sy stem is f ully integrated and works automatically. Here the job is done in real time. When an order is placed somewhere around the world, it shows directly on the warehouse employ ees handheld dev ices and the picking can begin immediately. In our warehouse there is constantly up to 2 million products, div ided into 650 dif f erent models in 200 dif f erent materials and 125 dif f erent colours. We hav e testers in v arious industries who help us adapt and improv e our products. Our aim is f or at least ten percent of our sales to come f rom products that hav e been dev eloped ov er the prev ious 18 months. DURABILITY Dif f erent garments of ten look quite similar. But if y ou look v ery closely, y ou can see big dif f erences. Not just in the seams. To make our garments last longer, we buy f abrics, threads and zips f rom the world s f oremost suppliers. LIFETIME WARRANTY Blaklader is the only working clothes manuf acturer that of f ers a lif etime warranty on its seams. Prof essional staf f and modern equipment make this warranty possible. If a seam splits, as long as it has not been torn by sharp edges or tools, we will repair it or replace the garment. We consider a garment s lif e span to be up until it has holes worn in it or is otherwise no longer usef ul. WAREHOUSE Blaklader works hard to ensure the customer gets their order in f ull and on time. Thats why our warehouse cov ers 20,000m2 and holds appromxiately 1.5million garments. Its f rom this central hub we send garments worldwide. ISO 14001 We are ISO 14001-certif ied, which means that we are constantly working to be as considerate to the env ironment as possible. WASHING AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS -FOR LASTING FUNCTION AND DURABILITY The correct wash cycle, care and storage of your workwear is important for its durability, function and long term comfort. The right care is also conditional in order to guarantee specific functions in the garment. An example is that a Hi-Vis garment may be less effective and therefore, less safe if it remains dirty. Please note the following care and washing instructions. WASH Every product has specif ic w ashing instructions, w hich it is important to follow. They are suited to the particular garment's material and design. Where the w ashing instructions say "w ash separately", this should be done. Alternatively, the garment can be w ashed w ith similar colours. Blåkläder estimates that w oven materials w ill shrink up to 3% and knitted material/jerseys up to 5%. Avoid shrinkage by ironing your clothes after w ashing them. Certain clothes may need to be shaped somew hat to retain their form. It is also important that zips, buttons and Velcro closures are closed w hen the garment is w ashed. This reduces w ear and tear and lengthens the garment's life. PRE-WASH The garments do not normally need pre-w ashing. In case of heavy soiling, pre-w ash can be used, w ith the same quantity of detergent as used in the main w ash. Do not soak the w ash in advance as undissolved detergent can damage the garments. DETERGENT Use laundry detergent f or coloured garments. Do not use laundry detergent containing bleach. Check that the laundry detergent is intended f or the garment's w ash. Follow the w ashing instructions on the laundry detergent pack. Please be aw are that fabric softeners can damage certain fabrics and their f unctions. For example, the breathability of w aterrepellent membranes can be impaired. We do not recommend the use of fabric softeners. DRYING We do not recommend tumble drying as an everyday solution. It is best to shake and smooth out the fabric, hang up or dry flat. If you do choose to tumble dry, follow the label guide and do not allow the garment to dry completely as the greatest w ear and shrinkage risk occurs at the latter stage of drying. Check the garment label caref ully as there may be exceptions. INDUSTRIAL WASH Industrial w ash involves a large scale, prof essional laundry environment, in contrast to home laundry. Garments labelled -industrial w ash- are suitable f or this type of laundry. The ISO 15797 certif ication deals w ith industrial w ashing and drying,, detergents and reactive substances w hich may be used. We recommend a trial w ash at the intended laundry. HIGH-VISIBILITY GARMENTS Soiling impairs the visibility of the Hi-Vis garment. For this reason, it is important to w ash them frequently and to follow the w ashing instructions. Never w ash Hi-Vis garments w ith laundry detergent containing bleach, because this impairs the garment's luminance. Hi-Vis clothing can be stored in a dry, w ell-ventilated space. Where garments need repairing, this must be done using fabric and thread that meets the garment's standard. SHOES In order to fulfil the safety stated characteristics, it is important that the shoes are alw ays used and tied correctly. Also pay attention if the shoes are subject to heavy w ear check that the soles, seams and uppers are intact. Clean the shoes regularly w ith a brush, remove any spots w ith a damp cloth and use shoe cream on the leather uppers. Never clean shoes w ith substances such as petrol, acids or solvents. The shoes should be stored in a dry, w ell-ventilated space. Never dry shoes next to a heat source such as a stove, radiator or drying cabinet. Let them dry slow ly and w ell-ventilated at room. GLOVES All gloves have a marking show ing the correct certif ication and perf ormance level. A damaged or badly f itting glove provides poorer protection, so you should alw ays check the gloves before use. The gloves must not come into contact w ith fire. Take care w hen w orking w ith moving machine parts, because the gloves may get caught and cause damage to your hands. Store dry and cool. Please consult your gloves' marking f or the correct w ashing instructions, or clean w ith a dry brush.
