23 Foreword I have had a love affair with crystals all my life. Even as a small child I would collect stones which were different and appealed to me. I always seemed to find stones that were out of the ordinary. I often found myself giving them away to people as presents. It was not until later that I discovered that the stones were crystals and that they had an effect on people. I decided to find out more about the crystals and their effects. At first it was not easy gathering this information; it became much easier later in life. I used my intuition at first, and found that I attracted people to me who used crystals in healing, both physical and metaphysical. These people shared their knowledge with me, and I shared what I had learnt with them. I devoured anything I could get my hands on regarding crystals and their healing powers. I would haunt the bookshops in any town that I visited. I have fond memories of hours spent in dusty second-hand book shops just browsing, looking for treasures. When someone in the family, or a friend, needed help, I would look for a crystal that could assist them in their healing. Even if I could not find the crystal or the crystal was not accepted by the person concerned, I would make a note of it either mentally or on paper. After a while I noticed that when I needed those little pieces of paper, I could not put my hands on them straight away or remember the particular crystal that was needed for the particular problem. And being the owner of a memory that needed jogging at times, it was not a very efficient way to keep records. It would then be back to the old crystal books looking up individual crystals. Realising that I needed a reference guide, I began searching high and low for a book that had an extensive list of emotions and their related crystal, but they all seemed to have the crystal first and mention the emotion somewhere else in the text. It is very time consuming, not to mention frustrating, going through every crystal to find the one related to the emotion that you wish to treat. I decided to catalogue the information that I had. It started out very modestly, but grew into a monster (but a lovable one). Other crystal healers I talked to had encountered the same problems as myself in this area, and were just as frustrated. So the monster grew, and the catalogue blossomed into this book. If something is worth doing it is worth doing well, as the saying goes. I hope this book will be of benefit to all who use crystals for healing, not only the professionals but the occasional crystal healers as well. May your journey be full of love and happiness. 24 Introduction This is a reference guide only, not the Holy Grail or the Bible. The information in this book is to assist you in obtaining the appropriate crystal for the appropriate emotion. The information was gained over many years through intuition, the continued use of crystals, talking to other crystal healers, experimenting, research and reading, reading, reading all I could about crystals and their properties. This is by no means a complete or definitive list, but a guide only. What works for one may not work for another. It is not meant to replace any medical treatment or medication that the person may be taking. Use the crystals to complement traditional medicine, not replace it. It is also not advisable to try to diagnose someone s medical condition unless you are a qualified medical practitioner. Crystals have been used for hundreds of years for healing, and are once again coming into their own in this area. Even some traditional medical doctors are suggesting that their patients try alternatives in conjunction with their treatment. It is amazing what results can be achieved with the use of crystals. The best way to use this book is to look up the emotion and find the crystals that are listed under it. Then you can look up the crystal properties and decide which one suits the situation or use your intuition to determine which one is the correct crystal for the emotion. Either method will work just as well. Trust your intuition, but if you are unsure then check with a crystal book to help you make your decision. Crystals can be applied to emotions in a number of ways. You can carry them on you, you can lay them on the affected area, rub them over the area to be treated or make an elixir with them. If you are going to make a gem elixir ALWAYS read about the crystal first to see if there are any contraindications. Some like Lead Crystals should not be prepared in the normal method, due to their toxicity and others should not be placed in water as they are soft and will dissolve. IF IN DOUBT, DON T. You will find a crystal called Magnetic Hematite in this book. There are a couple of cautions to observe when using this crystal. Because of its strong magnetic qualities, you should not use it on someone with a pacemaker. It should also be kept away from all cards with magnetic strips as it will remove the information stored there, and it is advisable to remove watches when using it. Do not be afraid to experiment with the crystals and their uses. This is exactly how all the knowledge that we have today was gained. If used wisely, and if the necessary cautions are all observed, then crystals will not harm but help.

But that would be selling it far to short; Crystals have innate metaphysical properties or healing powers. Crystal healing has been used for millennia by people as diverse as the Atlantians, Mayans, Incans, Egyptians, Native Americans and the Australian Aboriginals to name but a few. Crystals have been an integral part of people's lives from rituals to just plain old decoration. Some believe that certain healing crystals would ward of evil spirits and hexes, other crystals are used for physical protection others still for bringing wealth to the user, to heal physical, emotional, mental and spiritual areas of our lives. How does Healing Crystals work? Well there are a number of theories on this, some say that the crystal allows the person to focus their thoughts to stimulate the healing process, others that the crystals vibrations resonate with the area that needs healing and brings it into balance, thus eliminating the problem be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. Different healing crystals vibrate at different frequencies and therefore work on different areas of the mind, body and spirit. For example one would use a Rose Quartz for emotional matters of the heart, Amethyst for a headache, Fluorite for concentration and Magnesite for accessing past lives, of course these healing crystals have many other uses and there are also other crystals that will help the above mentioned conditions, depending on the person, some crystals will help them more than others, as everyone's conditions are not exactly the same and do not have exactly the same cause. Crystal healing is perhaps now even more poplar and widespread than it has ever been. People are looking at different ways to live their lives and to heal themselves. More and more are looking at the root cause of why the feel sick, unhappy and restless, rather than the physical symptoms that we see. This is not to say that we should neglect the physical signs of a problem. My belief is that crystals healing should go hand in hand with mainstream medicine. Holistic healing was once a part of medical practices (herbs and such). The Michigan State University even had a Homeopathic Hospital a number of years ago, I do not know if it is still in existence, but I have seen a picture of it in a very old medical book that I have. If you have a problem make sure that you are diagnosed by a qualified medical practitioner, then you will know what you need to look for to aid in your healing.

27 WHAT ARE CRYSTALS The word Crystal covers a variety of different substances. When most people think of crystals they imagine things like Quartz, Amethyst, Citrine and Sodalite, Things like Diamonds, Rubies, Emeralds, Sapphires etc are tended to be thought of as Gems, but they are also Crystals,. It is the demand that makes them more valuable the other forms of crystals. Also things like Gypsum, Pyrite, Gold and Sulphur are classed as crystals, especially in healing work. The exceptions are Coral, Amber and Pearls originating from Flora and Fauna and Tektite, Obsidian and Moldavite which are natural Glass. Crystals are formed in the earth by various methods, some have been subjected to enormous pressure, while others have been laid down layer by layer, others still have formed as stalactites and stalagmites, and again others have formed deep in underground chambers. Each of the above methods dictate the properties of the crystals, the crystalline structure if you like, this crystalline structure absorbs, transmits, focuses and conserves the energy on and electromagnetic waveband specific to each crystal type. Most Crystal Healers call this the vibrational frequency of the crystal. It is this vibrational frequency that gives each crystal its unique healing properties. It does not matter whether the crystal is large or small or as some say good quality (the look of the crystal, colour, shape etc) or poor quality the crystalline structure is exactly the same. Some times you will find that a particular crystal will come in different colours this does not alter the crystalline structure, but the colour can have a slightly different effect on how it heals. Crystals can be formed out of the same material or mixture of materials, but each type will crystallize differently. The crystals regular external lines mimic its internal order; it is symmetrical along its axis.

28 CHOOSING CRYSTALS There are a number of different ways to choose your crystals. You will probably find that at some point in time you will have used most of them, but you will also find that you will favour a particular method. Following are some of the methods that I know of. You may come by crystals by actually digging them up or finding them on the ground (I have done this many times), buying them from a shop, receiving them as a gift and sometimes they can just appear out of nowhere. You may find yourself drawn to a particular crystal by it colour, feel, shape or quality, then again it could just be a feeling, intuition if you like. I find many of my crystals by holding them and feeling the vibrations, this did not happen at first, but developed the more I had to do with crystals, at first it was the look of the crystal and the colour that drew me to them. Ways to choose Crystals. 1. Just pick up one at a time and see which feels right, sometimes it feels like they are talking to you, almost saying take me home. If a crystal appeals to you using this method then it will undoubtedly be the right one for you. 2. Stand in front of a group of crystals, relax and breathe easily, close your eyes and picture yourself selecting a crystal, now without opening your eyes, reach out and pick up a crystal, you maybe surprised at what you get. 3. This is a great way to find the right crystal in a shop. Stand in front of the crystals. Close your eyes and relax, now open your eyes quickly and pick up the first crystal you see. 4. If you are looking for a crystal for a particular purpose (meditation, protection etc), hold the reason in mind and project it to the crystals. Be opened to a response, sometimes you will sense an energy coming from the crystal, a tingling, a vibration or even a Take Me! Take Me! feeling. This is the crystal for you. 5. Choosing a crystal for another person is quite easy. Many people ask someone they trust to choose for them. There are two methods that I use to do this. Method 1. Stand in front of the crystals, visualize the person for whom you are choosing the crystal, project their image to the crystal. Choose the one that responds to you. (You will know).

29 Method 2. Stand in front of the crystals, close your eyes, visualize the person. Open your eyes and pick up the first crystal that takes your eye. You may be drawn to a particular crystal for some unknown reason, you have been found by the crystal, and it wants to be with you for some purpose. Meditation is a great help in discovering the reason for this. Just because you have a crystal in your possession does not automatically mean that it is for you, you may just be the temporary keeper until the rightful owner comes along. When you are finished with a crystal you will know that it is time to pass it on to the next person. Again this is intuition, and I have done this a number of times over the years, I also have crystals that I know will be with me for as long as I exist in this lifetime. This is just a knowing that I have, I also know which crystals will leave me when the time comes. Sometimes the crystals leave my possession for a short while and when their work is done return to me, to hold for future use. Always use your intuition when choosing crystals. Trust yourself.

30 CLEANSING CRYSTALS Once again the methods are many and varied. I will list some that I have used and some that others have told me about. Wash in sea water and let dry in sun (not all crystals can be cleansed this way due to the softness). Use a smudge stick or incense Native American and African tribes have used this method for hundreds of years. Just move the crystal through the smoke to cleanse it. Soak the crystals in sea salt for 7-24 hours rinse well and dry in sun. (Again some crystals are not suited to this method due to the softness). Place crystals on a large cluster for 12-24 hours. Surround the crystals with white light asking that negative energy be sent to the light Use a tape de-magnetizer over the entire crystal, this removes the negative energy. Hold the crystal under running water and dry in the sun. Immerse the crystals in a bowl of flowers and allow the essence to cleanse the negative energy for about 24 hours. Place the crystals in a bowl of brown rice again for around 24 hours. you can eat the rice when finished. (use only non-toxic crystals for this method) Use Reiki to cleanse your crystals, simply send the Reiki Symbols into the crystals and ask that they be cleansed and energized. Place the crystals in full sun or under a full moon. Crystals can be buried in the earth for about 24 hours this will also cleanse and energize them. When using a crystal cluster to cleanse your crystals, most people will recommend that you use an Amethyst or Quartz cluster, and while these work well, they themselves will have to been cleansed eventually. I would recommend that you use a Citrine cluster, Citrine works very well in this capacity as it does not hold negative energy, but passes it directly to the light, it is excellent for this purpose. I always keep a Citrine Cluster or Citrine Crystal with my other crystals, and I find that I do not have to cleanse the crystals before I use them again, and if I am very busy I just place the crystals back into the cabinet and the Citrine goes to work removing the negative energy from the environment and the crystals concerned.

31 PROGRAMMING CRYSTALS When programming a crystal you do so for a specific purpose either to heal an illness, for meditation, achieving a goal and any number of other reasons. Always ask that whatever you do be for the highest good. Again the ways to do this are plentiful. I will explain but just a few. The easiest way is to simply hold the crystal and tell it what is required. Use your Reiki Symbols to program the crystals for a particular task, concentrating on what is required. You can hold the crystal in your hand and imagine it surrounded by white light and say, I program this crystal to be used for the highest good of all and to assist in the healing of my sadness (place what it is you want to heal here). Another method is to hold the crystal, consider your purpose, seeking healing, say exactly what condition it is you want to be healed. Say I program this crystal for {your purpose}. Then place the crystal in a prominent position or keep it with you until the condition is better.

32 STORING CRYSTALS All crystals can be kept together with the exception of Opals they are not good mixers, when not being used. I have experimented with different types of Opals to see if any can be stored with other crystals. Every time I have found that the Opals will lose their colour and go very milky looking. When taken away from the other crystals the Opals will again take on their normal appearance and the milky effect will disappear. I do not have an explanation for this phenomenon, others say that the Opals are sulking and this is as good an explanation as any I have come across. You can keep your crystals in a cloth bag, in a drawer, cupboard, shoebox or even in a display case. All my crystals reside in a glass display cabinet with sliding doors, these doors are not airtight and I feel that this is what the crystals want. I get a great feeling every time I walk past the cabinet. The crystals seem quite happy in this environment as many of them have change since being in there. Some have had their colours deepened while others have repaired themselves of some small damage, like the Okenite, with its very delicate crystal shafts, when I acquired it, some of the crystals had flattened in spots these flat spots have now all but disappeared, some crystals just seem to be happier and they all give off loving and healing vibrations. All who look at the crystals say the make them smile and feel good. This even happens to people who do not believe in their healing powers, I love to see the smile appear on their faces as the look at and handle the crystals, just goes to show the crystals know what they are doing. If you keep your crystals where they do not have light all the time or do not come into contact with you or others often, then it is wise to take them out from time to time and allow them to interact with the world around them. They just love to be around people. A little aside, some people will tell you not to let others particularly children handle your crystals, as they are yours and only you should handle them. Well I say it is a lot of poppycock, I let everyone and anyone handle my crystals and nothing bad has ever happened to the crystals or the person handling them. You must be careful with children only so that they do not put small crystals or toxic crystals into their mouths, and also watch out for some of your more delicate crystals with both children and adults. Other than this let the world see and feel your crystals and their healing powers.

33 CRYSTAL USAGE There are a number of ways in which the crystals can be applied to a condition. You can wear them as jewellery, such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants. They can be carried on your person, in a pocket or purse You can hold them over the effected area, rub them gently over the area to be treated or just let them rest on the area. You can place them beside your bed, under the bed or under the pillow. They can be placed in the car; it is advisable to make sure that they are in a secure place, e.g. glove box, to prevent them from flying around and causing injury to anyone. You can use the crystals in a layout. There are a number of them so it would be advisable to look some up to find the one that suits you best. (I have included some in this book) You will find information on chakras and chakra layouts on page? Crystals can be place on all chakras or just on the one relating to the condition that you wish to treat. You can place the crystals around your home anywhere that you feel the need. They make a very attractive ornament. You can make an elixir with them. I always make my elixir one way as I feel that it is the safest way to do so. I take a glass container of spring water and seal it (a bottle is what I would normally use.) I then take the crystal that I have chosen to make the elixir with and program it for the particular use. I then place the crystal on the outside of the glass container and leave it for around 12 hours.(this can be less if needed in a hurry just tell the crystal time is important) Be sure not to place the container of water in direct sunlight, as this can cause bacteria to form. If you are going to make a gem elixir ALWAYS read about the crystal first to see if there are any contraindications. Some crystals e.g. Lead Crystals should not be prepared by the normal method, due to their toxicity, and others should not be placed in water as they are soft and will dissolve. IF IN DOUBT, DON T

34 THE CHAKRAS BASE CHAKRA: The Root or Base Chakra is located in the base of our spines It has 4 petals It governs the skeletal system, especially the spine and blood. The endocrine glands are the adrenal glands It is associated with the Physical/Etheric level of consciousness The Kundalini lies coil in the base chakra Colours for this Chakra are Red or Black Crystals for this Chakra are Hematite, Red Jasper or Ruby. This centre is our link with nature and the planet Earth. It deals with all issues of a physical nature - the body, the senses and sensuality, aggression and self-defence. Basic instincts of survival, the instinct of hunting for food, protecting oneself and one's loved ones. It is the association of the base chakra with this fundamental instinct of self-preservation that gives it a quality of the will to live. Because it relates much to our physical existence one can understand why it is described as the chakra where Spirit and matter meet. Spirit and matter must meet for there to be physical manifestation or existence. Within the etheric body there is an energy flow between the lower and higher charkas. The lower charkas are those residing beneath the diaphragm and the higher chakras are above. There is a corresponding higher chakra for each lower chakra, and transference of energy from the lower to higher chakra. The base chakra transfers energy to the crown chakra. When the charkas are in balance the colours should be vibrant. Disorders that can be associated with an unbalanced Base Chakra are: Anorexia, Bulimia, Cold Hands and Feet, Constipation, Crohn's Disease, Depression, Diarrhea, High Blood Pressure, Kidney Stones, Obesity, Sciatica, Varicose Veins The Base Chakra is the center for vitality and energy, we are grounded through the Base Chakra it is our connection to the earth and our physical body. Our sense of smell is also associated with the Base Chakra.

35 SACRAL CHAKRA: The Sacral or Naval (Belly) Chakra is located just below the naval. It has 6 petals. It governs the organs of reproduction The endocrine glands are the gonads It is associated with the Etheric/Astral level. Colour for this Chakra is Orange Crystal for this Chakra is Orange Aventurine This chakra deals with creativity and sexuality. It is the place of joy and the place where the inner child is located. It is associated with the testes in men and the ovaries in women. It is here that the will to procreate is located. Often when people who have relationship problems this is the chakra that will be out of balance. Most people's lives are driven by the desire for sex. Unfortunately People use sex to manipulate others, to get what they want. Although the sacral chakra is strongly related to misuse of sexual energies, its negative qualities also relate to power and money. There is a strong connection between the sacral and the solar plexus charkas, when healing the problems associated with sex, power and money. The sacral chakra transfers energy to the throat chakra. People use the power of speech to manipulate to get what they want. Those with an under active chakra do not express their desires and emotions. When in a state of balance the colour should be vibrant orange. Disorders that can be associated with an unbalanced Sacral Chakra are: Bladder, Constipation, Endometriosis, Frigidity, Impotency, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Lower Back Pain, Menstrual Problems, Mood Swings, Muscle Spasms, Ovarian Cysts, Sciatica, Testicular Disease, Urinary Problems. The energy of the Sacral Chakra can help us to get moving, to grow and change. Emotional pleasures including intimacy are also governed by this Chakra. Things like self-respect, learning how to give and take, to pursue creative activities. The Sacral Chakra is also related to things like emotional ups and downs, empathy, guilt, obsession and manipulative natures.

36 SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA: The Solar Plexus Chakra it is located beneath the sternum, below the heart and below the base of the rib cage It has 10 petals It governs the organs of the abdominal cavity the stomach, liver, gallbladder and the small and large intestine. The endocrine gland is the pancreas. It is associated with the lower astral/mental plane. Colour for this Chakra is Yellow Crystal for this Chakra is Aragonite The lower emotions based on fear- anxiety, insecurity, jealousy, and anger are generated here. This is the place of the wounded child, it can also be found in the sacral and base charkas as well. Its energies also affect the digestive system, the diaphragm and so the breathing. The solar plexus chakra is the ruling and governing chakra in most people. This charkas energies is the most influential, as they tend to permeate and influence the consciousness of most people. If unbalanced, it can have the effect in most cases that people are predominately influenced and ruled by their own selfish desires. It can hold a lot of negative energy, due to a weakness in the personality. A balanced solar plexus chakra radiates the qualities of pure devotion love and radiates a power within. Energies from the solar plexus transfer to the third eye. It vibrates to a bright golden yellow. Disorders that can be associated with an unbalanced Solar Plexus Chakra are: Coeliac's Disease, Diabetes, Digestive Problems, Gallstones, Hypoglycemia, Liver Disease, Muscle Cramps, Peptic Ulcer, Pancreatic Disease The Solar Plexus Chakra is related to self-worth, personality, ego, the way we see ourselves and others, also connected to Self-centeredness the need to dominate. It is the center of personal power and intellect also our perceptions regarding control, freedom and power. It gives us our get up and go attitude to life.

37 HEART CHAKRA: The heart chakra is located in the middle of the chest. It has 12 petals. It governs the heart and lungs The endocrine gland is the thymus. It is associated with the higher mental and soul Colours for this Chakra are Primary Green and Secondary Rose or Pink Crystals for this Chakra are Green Aventurine or Rose Quartz The heart chakra is the one of the most difficult to awaken. The heart is awakened through suffering and pain, which most people will avoid as much as possible. It can also be awoken through selfless service. Selfless service does not come easily to most people. The inherent nature of people leans towards selfish rather than selfless. One must be willing to change old habits, desires and thought and instigate much higher principles in their lives. The heart chakra is the place of the soul, our inner guidance, and the area of higher emotions. It is easy to give love when we receive love, but it is harder to give unconditional love to others when there is none in return. When balanced there can be unconditional love, empathy, compassion, friendship and a feeling of universal connection. When balanced the heart chakra vibrates a green colour. Disorders that can be associated with an unbalanced Heart Chakra are: Aids, Allergies, Anger, Breast Cancer, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, Immune System Disease, Insomnia, Paranoia, Pneumonia The Heart Chakra is connected with compassion, personal joy, honesty, respect, understanding, generosity, emotional empowerment and forgiveness.

38 THROAT CHAKRA: The Throat Chakra is located at the base of the neck and over the throat front. It has 16 petals It governs the lungs, throat, trachea (wind pipe), the larynx (voice box) and the pharynx (back of mouth) also the mouth including the jaw, teeth and ears. The endocrine gland is the thyroid. It is associated with the higher astral. Colour for this Chakra is Blue. Crystal for this Chakra is Sodalite. The throat chakra deals with all forms of communication and expression, like art, dance, music, language and so on. It deals with truth and true expression of the soul. The power of words has a great effect on people and if negative can create imbalance. The throat chakra is developed in many people but that is not to say that it is balance. Speech is a powerful tool it can be used to persuade, to mislead, to emotionally wound, to corrupt, deceive, lie and cheat. You only have to look and listen to hear the misuse of speech. On the other hand speech can be used for the betterment of people, just by using kind words, giving praise, not using judgmental words or actions. The creative energy of the throat chakra can be expressed through speech, writing, music or art. When in a state of balance the chakra vibrates to the colour sky blue. Disorders that can be associated with an unbalanced Throat Chakra are: Anorexia, Asthma, Bronchitis, Hearing Difficulties, Mouth Ulcers, Sore Throat, Thyroid Problems, and Tonsillitis The Throat Chakra is associated with things like, truth speaking, listening to your intuition, fulfilling your goals, purpose and self-expression.

39 THIRD EYE CHAKRA: The Third Eye Chakra is situated between our eyebrows. It has 96 petals. It governs the left eye, the lower brain, the nose and nervous system. The endocrine gland is the pituitary. It is associated with the higher mental. Colours for this Chakra are Indigo or Purple. Crystal for this Chakra is Amethyst. It is the centre for extra sensory perception, intuition, clairvoyance and telepathy. The two physical eyes and the third eye make the triangle of the one eye that sees all as divine. The clarity of the third eye is blocked if we are prejudice or judgmental. It oversees the activities of all the chakras below. It deals with developing and trusting intuition, allowing the souls knowledge to come through to develop high sense perception to assist in life. Like the other chakras the third eye has been abused and need to be balanced and cleansed. The energy around the third eye can be very strong. It can be intimidating to less stronger mental personalities. When balanced the third eye vibrates to the colours of indigo or violet. Disorders that can be associated with an unbalanced Third Eye Chakra are: Cataracts, Catarrh, Glaucoma, Hearing Problems, Long Sightedness, Mental Illness, Migraines, Short Sightedness, Sinusitis Tension Headaches. The Third Eye Chakra is associated with psychic powers, higher intuition, telepathy and astral travel. I also controls open mindedness, mental development, dreams, memories and second sight, also aids us with insight. The Third Eye Chakra also allows us to see the bigger picture.

40 CROWN CHAKRA: The Crown Chakra is located at the fontanel or top of the head. It has 960 petals. It governs the upper brain and right eye. The endocrine gland is the pineal. It is associated with the soul and spirit. Colours for this Chakra are Violet, and White. Crystal for this Chakra is Clear Quartz this is used as it is a combination of all colours and represents white light. This is usually the last chakra to be awakened. When this happens you will have higher understanding, wisdom, Cosmic Consciousness. The crown chakra provides a direct link to the source. It deals with issues of spirituality, the centre of pure knowing, pure wisdom, total inspiration, open to spiritual and cosmic truth. When balanced, the crown chakra vibrates either pure white or violet or gold. Disorders that can be associated with an unbalanced Crown Chakra are: Alzheimer s, Confusion, Dementia, Depression, Dizziness, Epilepsy, Headaches, Hysteria, Parkinson s Disease, Schizophrenia, Stress The Crown Chakra controls spiritual awareness, empathy, allows us to connect to the Universe/God, helps us to live in the moment/now, see the bigger picture and to receive information from a higher source. It also encourages self-knowledge and self-love.

41 CRYSTAL HEALING LAYOUTS There are a number of schools of thought on how the crystals should be placed and how long to leave them in place. Some say to point the crystal outwards for 5 minutes and then turn them around and point them inwards for another 5 minutes. To me this seems to disturb the healing field and I tend to just place and then leave them for up to 20 minutes, I find anything longer and people start to become restless. When placing the crystals in the layout they do not have to be exact, the diagrams are only for guidance, remember at all times follow your intuition. Some general guidelines, try not to make the crystals big as they can become heavy especially in certain areas like the Solar Plexus. Also crystals that are not completely round work better when placed on the body, if placing around the person then this is not a concern. INTUITIVE HEALING LAYOUT There is no diagram for this layout as the name suggests. All that you need to do is gather your crystals together, lay them out and select and place them where every your intuition tells you to. You will find this is a very interesting and rewarding experience, it lets you trust your instincts and that is the best guide that you can have. You will see some layouts in books that have the entire person covered in crystals and this is fine, but do not think that you have to have lots of crystals to help healing. I am not saying this is wrong, just that most diagrams of intuitive healing layouts seem to display this. I have probably never used more the 20 crystals in a layout and that would be the extreme. But again you may feel the need to use more, I can not stress enough that if you follow your intuition you will get the right balance.

42 CHAKRA HEALING LAYOUT You can do a full Chakra healing layout or you can just place the chosen crystal on the chakra that relates to the area that needs healing. This is probably the only layout that I never seem to change except for the Heart or Base Chakras and then only between the two colours for these Chakras. YOU WILL NEED: One Clear or Violet Crystal for the Crown Chakra One Purple or Indigo Crystal for the Third Eye Chakra, One Blue Crystal for the Throat Chakra, Either a Green or Pink Crystal for the Heart Chakra, One Yellow Crystal for the Solar Plexus Chakra, One Orange Crystal for the Naval Chakra, One Red or Black Crystal for the Base Chakra

43 HEADACHE RELIEF LAYOUT Amethyst is a great crystal for headaches. It relieves the pain quickly by freeing up blockages and allowing the energy to flow. You will need Five Amethyst Crystals although you may use others if you feel that you need too. If you feel uncomfortable with using Amethyst just look up Headaches or Migraines and select a crystal that resonates with you better. Remember there is not wrong way. Place the first crystal on or above the Crown Chakra (If you are doing this on yourself then Above is probably easier) Place the next crystal over the Third Eye Chakra Place each of the remaining two crystals on either side of the Throat Chakra There is a variation that I like to use with this layout if nausea occurs with the headache, I like to place a Dioptase crystal on the Solar Plexus Chakra, this will help settle the stomach (again you can use a different crystal if you prefer). Some of the crystals that you can use if your headache progresses to a migraine are Aventurine, Hematite and Sodalite there are a number of others listed under Headaches and Migraines that may help you choose. And yes! Before you say but Amethyst is not listed under migraine, it is listed for most types of headaches and I always find that you need to add some stronger crystals with Migraines but I always use Amethyst with my migraines at least one, again this is personal choice and I have found that Amethyst alone is not strong enough for my migraines at least.

44 ACHES AND PAINS RELIEVING LAYOUT We all suffer from aches and pains of one sort or another. It can be chronic pain say from arthritis, RSI, sometimes from muscle strain, perhaps just poor posture and any number of reasons that are too many and varied to go into here. Two crystals that are very effective in this area are Lodestone and Black Tourmaline, but again there are other very good pain relieving crystals that you can use. Experiment, Experiment. Place one crystal at the Crown Chakra Place one crystal on or at the feet Place one crystal at each elbow Place one crystal at each hip Place one crystal at the Base Chakra Place one crystal in each hand.

45 Abandonment: Chalcanthite, Dioptase, Garnet, Halite, Lavender-Pink Smithsonite, Sunstone.
