We have a plan in the works. 2011 Theme Vacation Destination At the kick-off, teams were asked to choose a vacation destination theme for their tent sites. Each tent site should be decorated according to your destination. You can incorporate your on-site fundraisers, games, food, etc. into your destination. Be creative! The following teams have already chosen their vacation destinations: We Need You! Please consider volunteering for the Team Development Chair or the Publicity Chair. Bowl For Life Thanks to all those who participated, recruited and helped! We raised about $2,800. Good work everyone! Donations Needed We are in need of donations for prizes for Bark and Relay and Survivor gifts. Please let a member of the committee know if you or your company has something they would be willing to donate. All donations will be acknowledged. Facebook Join our Facebook group. If you have a Facebook account, search Relay For Life of the South Hills. You can post pictures, videos, fundraisers, events, etc. It s just another way to get the word out about Relay. SUPER EASY FUNDRAISERS FOR YOU! Bark For Life You can earn $25 per dog that you recruit. We are excited to announce the 3rd annual event that is all about dogs! This fundraising event honors the care-giving qualities of our best friends. It is a fun event, a valuable contribution to the ACS, and a testament to the care and love shared between dogs and families. Bark For Life is a walk for dogs and their owners and will be held on Saturday, May 7th, from 10-1 at the South Park Fairgrounds. There will be a 1 mile walk, contests, raffles, demonstrations, awards, etc. all while raising money for cancer research. The registration is $25 which includes a t-shirt for you and a bandana for your dog. You will receive a $25 credit for each dog you recruit to the event. The registration form is attached. Your team is welcome to booth space at the event. You can sell your fundraising items, basket raffles, etc. Email Mary Lou at mlbends4@verizon.net to reserve your booth space. Canines Care - Give Hope - Save Lives! Premier Designs Jewelry Party Have a Premier Designs Jewelry Party! Heather will donate half of her profits to you for the Relay from any jewelry shows that are booked between now and June 11. The host incentive includes a charm bracelet that can t be ordered, 30% of retail sales in FREE jewelry, and 4-8 items at half price. Also, any party booked from the original parties, will earn an additional $25 donation. April s promo - If your guest spends $75, they will get any $40 item free. Heather will make a special Relay / ACS themed invitation she can send to your guests. Book parties can also be arranged. Fur a Cure Fur a Cure items are really cute and easy to sell. One item will be donated for every item purchased. It is basically a Buy One Get One offer. So if you had orders for 12 doggie t-shirts, you would purchase 6 and 6 would be donated. You can double your profits or use the extra merchandise for giveaways/raffles. This kind of fundraising can be done as a book party or at any other team fundraiser. The order forms are attached. Sizing for Pet Clothing Please note that all pet items are not created equal. This means that if your pet wears a Small from one designer it does not necessarily mean that she would wear a Small from another designer. We have provided individual sizing charts with dimensions to assist you with the best choice for your pet. Please measure your pet before purchasing to ensure the best fit possible or contact us for additional assistance! General Measurement Guide: Neck: Measure at the thickest point of the neck, right above the shoulder. Chest: Measure around your dog s chest at the widest point for the best fit. Size Chart for People If you are just fitting into the size you normally get, and you like your shirts roomy, you may want to step up to the next size. Tee-shirts and Hoodies are unisex on a standard men s size scale. Generally speaking, you should order the same size shirt you wear in other similar shirts. Our tee-shirts are pre-shrunk and should not radically shrink when first washed. We recommend giving a quarter size for shrinking over the lifetime of the shirt. All tee-shirts are 100% pre-shrunk 6.1 oz. cotton. Organic tee-shirts are 5 oz. 100% certified organic cotton fiber. Hoodies are 8 oz. cotton fleece 50/50 blend. For best results and longevity of your item, please follow the washing instructions on the label. Never use bleach or harsh detergents.
