NORA: Definition NORA is the most innovative pulsed light unit on the market, due to its new Plug & Pulse technology, which means lamps can be replaced with a simple click, without the need for technical assistance. The high performance of this device and its longer-lasting lamps (60,000 shots) make it the most competitive intense pulsed light option on the market. NORA allows us to perform 3 treatments with one single unit: HAIR REMOVAL SKIN REJUVENATION ACNE
SCIENTIFIC GROUNDS
NORA: Scientific Grounds How is the light absorbed? All organisms that are illuminated absorb some of the electromagnetic waves and reflect the rest. The reflected waves correspond to the colour of the pigment in the skin's surface. Colour violet blue green yellow orange red Wavelength: ~ 380-450 nm ~ 450-495 nm ~ 495-570 nm ~ 570 590 nm ~ 590 620 nm ~ 620 750 nm
NORA: Scientific Grounds Light absorption Process by which the radiation is captured by the material, when it is absorbed it can be re-emitted or converted into another type of energy: electricity, mechanical vibration... or heat Photothermal effect ºC White Black
NORA: Scientific Grounds Photothermal effect on the skin Destructive action Repair action
NORA: Scientific Grounds What it is the selective photothermal effect? This is the selective heating by means of light absorption, causing damage or destruction to the target tissue and minimising the damage to the surrounding tissue. T.R.T. (thermal relaxation time): This is the time required for an object to cool to 50% of its temperature after exposure to an intense light or laser light beam. Example: Hair T.R.T.: Skin T.R.T.: 20 60 ms. 8 10 ms. Chromophore: Molecule or compound capable of absorbing energy from a photon
NORA: Scientific Grounds What does it do to the chromophore of the target tissue?
NORA: Scientific Grounds How is this achieved from the T.R.T.? Variable Pulse Technology: This is the emission of various pulses of light in one single shot, to make use of the scientific properties of the T.R.T., resulting in the heating of the tissue to be treated while keeping the surrounding skin cool. TREATMENTS
NORA: Treatments Application - Photoepilation Hair removal is now the 3 rd most popular cosmetic treatment in the world. More than 80% of men and women in the world between 16 and 70 years old use some form of hair removal.
NORA: Treatments Hair removal (610 nm) The light is absorbed by the hair. The hair is heated uniformly. The heat transmitted by the hair destroys the hair follicle. The part in contact with the papilla destroys it by heat transmission. The hair will fall out and the hair follicle is incapacitated and unable to produce hair. ~ 80 ºC
NORA: Treatments Application - Photorejuvenation Women between 30 and 65 years are the main target for this treatment. 20% of photorejuvenation treatments are carried out on men. The main treatment areas are the face, hands and neck/chest area.
NORA: Treatments Age spots and pigmentation due to exposure to the sun (530 nm) The melanin easily absorbs the light, heating the blemish. The heat destroys the cell tissue inside the pigmentation. The body recognises the particles as waste and eliminates them. The particles that remain on the surface are eliminated by natural flaking.
NORA: Treatments Wrinkles and expression lines (530 nm) The light stimulates the fibroblasts to generate collagen. The new collagen is synthesised in the dermis and lifts the bed of the wrinkle. The collagen is uniformly distributed in the surface, improving the texture and reducing the size of the pores.
NORA: Treatments Application - acne Acne is the most common skin disorder and affects, or has affected at some point, more than 80% of the world's population. It generally appears on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. It mainly occurs during adolescence.
NORA: Treatments Acne (410 610 nm) The exclusive filter designed for this treatment (410 610 nm) generates a light beam that triggers two processes: Production of a molecular variation of oxygen, toxic to the bacterium P. Acnes Anti-inflammatory and regenerative effect (collagen) The pore is freed of dead cells and the inflammation disappears gradually. The pore is unblocked and the skin is left smoother thanks to the collagen created.

NORA: Clinical Study CONCLUSIONS The results of the preliminary study confirm that NORA is highly effective for: Photoepilation Anti-aging Acne The individualised parameterisation of each pulse means the treatment energy can be reduced without diminishing its efficacy. The reduced treatment energy makes sessions with NORA safer and less likely to cause side effects. Their parameterisation means even phototype IV can be treated safely.
