CASE STUDY MADE WITH LOVE & PRECISION OBJECTIVE The objective of the campaign was to reposition Harrods as an international destination for Fine Watches. Made with Love and Precision aimed to appeal to top-spending watch enthusiasts to help drive trade, attract new customers and retain existing ones. For the first time in the history of Harrods, the Brompton Road windows were devoted to fine watches. Our fine-watch houses were invited to showcase exclusive pieces in-store for the duration of the campaign, highlighting provenance and materials. The creative focused on oversized watches. The time pieces were set in precious metal and raw gemstones. To tie in with Harrods Times, visuals from the publication were incorporated into the window display to create impact and cohesion between platforms. CRM A direct mailer was produced to communicate the campaign, as well as targeted email. Made with Love and Precision was included on the What s On page in June. HARRODS.COM Made with Love and Precision featured on a homepage banner on harrods.com, as well as in a dedicated Style Insider feature. SOCIAL MEDIA Customers engaged with the campaign across Harrods social media platforms including @HarrodsTimes and @Harrods using the hashtag #MadeWithPrecision CAMPAIGN OUTLINE As well as featuring prominently in the Brompton Road windows, the campaign was covered in a feature in Harrods Times (English and Chinese editions), on the Harrods app, and across the in-store screen networks (exterior networks, Door 10 and Door 3) and as part of the store s visual merchandising. MARKETING SUPPORT & EVENTS An exhibition in The Fine Watch Room allowed customers to explore the exclusive timepieces in detail, with provenance stories and design details highlighted throughout. Press were invited to explore the room before the official launch. 8 HARRODS MEDIA 9

MEDIA PORTFOLIO DIGITAL STORE GUIDE MEDIA PORTFOLIO HARRODS APP HARRODS APP The Digital Store Guide is a digital mapping solution in the Harrods app that can: Localise a customer s phone and pinpoint their position on a digital store map Offer a searchable index of brands, departments and points of interest Provide a location, or a route to their chosen destination or brand As a business, Harrods aim was to create a tool that supports the broader navigation project (as recommended by Endpoint) to help improve wayfinding in-store. Other objectives included: Increasing time and spend in-store by creating opportunities for customers to discover more product and spend less time navigating Offering a new marketing channel for promoting in-store events, launches and points of interest Driving incremental income through increased downloads of the app and new in-app media opportunities Strengthening the value of the Harrods app to create an end-to-end digital experience Using content to inspire customers to visit the store Supporting customers prior to and during their visit To be market-leading in the delivery of a digital retail navigation experience In future, Harrods aims to work with ibeacons to send marketing messages directly to devices detected in a specific location. These beacons have the ability to deliver short messages or trigger action on a nearby screen that could be used to highlight events, offers or promotions Future updates to the Harrods app will see customers able to find others in the store, as well as communicate via the app Additional new features will include the I am lost function. This will allow users to specify an agreed meeting point and offer the shortest route to that meeting point after pressing the function Log-in functionality linked to Harrods Rewards will also be added to the app 52 HARRODS MEDIA 53
