PITTI OPTICAL POWER, the theme of the summer fairs Stripes that move, wiggle and meet up again creating a whirlpool or crossroads in a cheerful game that escapes the austerity of black and white and, through color, proposes a visual and virtual celebration. At 9.00 p.m. on Thursday 21 June, a thrilling end of year prom-themed dance will celebrate five years of the kids line and the birth of a new capsule collection. _ plus, among the new names and important returns for this edition we should mention: Alberta Ferretti, Bikkenbergs, Custo Barcelona, Daniele Alessandrini, GCDS and Paciotti 4Us. The Pitti Bimbo CATWALK SHOWS In the Fortezza, the Sala della Ronda will host three special Pitti Immagine catwalk shows. On Thursday 21 June there will be a performance featuring a selection of names from #ACTIVELAB, while on Friday 22 June some of APARTMENT s luxury collections will take to the catwalk and there will also be a dedicated moment for some brands from the KidzFIZZ team. Also, in the Sala della Ronda, at 12 midday on Thursday 21 June, there will be the catwalk show featuring the collective of Spanish brands, CHILDREN'S FASHION FROM SPAIN: Abel & Lula, Amaya, Boboli, Foque, Mayoral, Tartaleta, Tuc Tuc. The catwalk show is organized by ICEX-España Exportación and Inversiones, together with the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Milan and with the collaboration of ASEPRI, the main Spanish fashion and childcare sector association. #ACTIVELAB, metropolitan active research Following its successful launch in January, #Activelab is getting bigger. This is the new research laboratory at Pitti Bimbo: the same DNA as Kidzfizz but with a street and sport imprint. At the Cavaniglia Studio an expressly dedicated area inside the Cavaniglia Pavilion - a layout with playfully feisty tones will welcome a selection of international brands that experiment with sportswear, street and activewear, spheres that have cool connotations in the world of children. Here are the new themes: _ Builders of Tomorrow: hazard signs, warning signs, reflective elements, hardhats, various tools, these all belong to a language that kids understand and adore and that, in the building site of fashion and play, offer ironic inspiration. _Jingle Jangle Jungle: invasive and interfering greenery, luxuriant, tropical, rich and intricate vegetation, enormous leaves in different colors, lianas, fig trees, acacias, banana trees which involve clothing, accessories and miscellaneous objects in a vegetable-based exploration. 3
KID S EVOLUTION: from fashion for adults to capsule collections in a mini format Kid's Evolution is a project devised by Alessandro Enriquez for Pitti Bimbo. On the Lower Level of the Main Pavilion it is a section dedicated to designers who carry out research in the adult world and who have created a capsule collection for kids with high creative potential. The names for this edition: Bad Deal, I am Isola Marras Jimi Roos, Leontine and Mimida. FASHION COMICS stars the UGLYDOLLS At this edition Fashion Comics, the project which is the brainchild of Alessandro Enriquez realized in collaboration with Pitti Bimbo, stars the UGLYDOLLS, comical characters created in 2001 by two designers as the result of their long distance love story. The special mini-me capsule collections realized by fashion designers for adults will be inspired by Ice Bat, Ox and Moxy, cute puppets that spread a universal message of love, joy, uniqueness and diversity. OFF the PAGE...AND INTO THE WORLD OF FASHION A selection of international illustrators drawn from the exhibition at the Bologna Children's Book Fair. Pitti Bimbo chooses and proposes a team of interesting illustrators, considered to be some of the best, to create a bridge between publishing and fashion. PITTI IMMAGINE LOVES MINI. MINI MOVES PITTI IMMAGINE Passion, innovation, creative research. The expression of the partnership between Pitti Immagine and MINI since 2015. Two worlds that share values and objectives linked to a contemporary lifestyle approach. This year MINI renews its collaboration with Pitti Bimbo, ready to share its vision and design inspirations starting from its privileged take on the latest trends in children s lifestyles. The 60 YEARS OF CHICCO - CHICCO GENERATION exhibition-event In order to celebrate its sixtieth anniversary, Chicco will be holding an exhibition-event that will talk to those who, generation after generation, have grown up together with the iconic childcare brand, surrounded by its ministering, attention and its products. The Millennials, Generations X and Y, the digital natives and the Baby Boomers: generations that are distant from each other but united in the Chicco Generation. YCCS present the Charta Smeralda at Pitti Bimbo One Ocean Foundation, the Italian platform dedicated to safeguarding the ocean, created by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS), presents its rulebook of good behavior for conserving the sea environment - the Charta Smeralda - to the Pitti Bimbo exhibitors. Riccardo Bonadeo executive Vice President of the Fondazione and Commodore of YCCS - presents the AQUA mascot, a seahorse and children s friend, testimony of the priority the Fondazione gives to new generations. Aqua will be present in a dedicated area of Pitti Bimbo to celebrate the occasion. The Pirouette Blog One Watch Award is back Two winners will be selected among the talents of KidzFizz and The Nest for Pirouette's One to Watch Award, the award that supports emerging designers in childrenswear, designed by Pirouette Blog, cult establishment in the world for kids, between business and consumers. Florence Rolando, founder of Pirouette, and Katie Kendrick, Editor in Chief, with Alejandra Salvatore from Severina Kids, will evaluate the brands of the two sections. STYLE PICCOLI celebrates 10 years with an exhibition as well as strawberries and champagne Step after step, photograph after photograph, the journey of Style Piccoli, the RCS magazine dedicated to children s lifestyles has reached the age of ten years old: a journey which has seen children and fashions change. To mark the occasion the Style Piccoli space in the Fortezza is hosting an exhibition of iconic photos and inviting everyone to make a toast with strawberries and champagne in two dedicated moments. ELLE KIDS little ones become opinion leaders ELLE KIDS magazine celebrates 10 years with a special format in which kids are the protagonists. They will be the opinion leaders involved in a round of interviews, observations and thoughts on and around fashion. URBAN KIDS, the first free press publication dedicated to the world of children Pitti Bimbo will be the occasion for the premiere of Urban Kids, the new magazine (4 issues per year) and the first free press publication dedicated to the world of children. To mark the occasion Urban Kids will have six distribution points inside the Fortezza da Basso and 350 around the city. THE POLIMODA JUNIOR SUMMER CAMP, in collaboration with Pitti Immagine and the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo From kids to kids: fashion creativity in support of the Fondazione Meyer Polimoda, in collaboration with Pitti Immagine and the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo, presents the first Junior Summer Camp on fashion in support of the Fondazione dell Ospedale Pediatrico Meyer. An educational project for children from 8 to 12 years old that aims to translate their natural interest in fashion into a creative itinerary that stimulates the imagination, manual skills and intercultural exchange. The Junior Summer Camp will be held in Florence from 2 to 6 July 2018, and the proceeds will be donated to the Fondazione Meyer, an institution that was set up to support communication, marketing and fundraising activities for the Meyer, the Children s Hospital of Florence, a point of reference for pediatrics in Italy.
