Competitions are open to students and professional nail technicians of all skill levels, from all around the world. Nailympia Australia reserves the right to refuse entry to any competitor. Competitors and models must be at least years old. Competitors must specify the competition division they are entering when the registration form is filled out. Once a competitor has registered, they cannot change divisions. Competitors must enter the highest division they qualify for. Due to the large attendance and international participation, Nailympia Australasia is not responsible for verifying that each competitor enters the correct division. This is done on the honour system. If it s found a competitor has registered in the wrong division, they will receive a 0 point deduction in their final score for each competition. There will be an overall Winner of Winners for each division.everyone is eligible, even if they have won it in previous years. Competitors must use a live model and arrange for their own model for the event. Except for Mixed Media, and Flat Nail art, which are created on nail tips. Models enter the expo free of charge. Competitors who do not understand English must supply their own translator. The translator must be present during the competition briefing and stay just outside the competition floor in a designated area during the competition in the event they are needed for communication with the competitor. This must occur only communicating via a floor judge. Every effort is made to ensure that qualified judges are provided. Judges meet prior to the competition so all are clear on what they are judging and their responsibilities. Judging sheets are made available to competitors after the awards ceremony and judges will make every effort to be available for any questions/critique afterwards, although this is not guaranteed. The judging is blind, meaning only the models hands will be seen each judge, with the exception of the Fantasy Nails category. The judges will have no knowledge of which technician created which set of nails models will be identified numbers on wristbands randomly assigned on the arena. Judges do not judge every aspect of the set. Each judge is given, or aspects out of 0 to judge. This way they can concentrate on a few aspects of the nails, rather than all. This helps to keep the judging consistent and keep any one judge from drastically raising or lowering a competitor s score, since they do not judge all 0 points. The last benefit to this method of judging is that the process tends to move a bit quicker, which is good in larger competitions, such as this. In the event of a tie, the head judge s score will determine the placement. For any ties falling below 0th place, each entry with the same score will simply be listed in alphabetical order, as a place below 0th will not affect competitors standing in ranks. In keeping with Nailympia globally, every effort is made to ensure judges are a mix of experts from around the world. Please read all of the rules and get clarification on any you are not 00% certain of with the competition co-ordinator. This is your responsibility to check. If you compete and are judged with a deduction due to a rule that you did not interpret the way it was meant, it is too late to change this at the competition. Judge s decisions are final and all entries are judged on the exact same criteria. Get all your questions clarified before the competition to ensure a more satisfying experience.

NAILYMPIA AUSTRALASIA 0 RULES AND REGULATIONS BEAUTYEXPO.COM.AU 0 The Winner of Winners total score is based on combining the top three scores from the competitor s relevant categories. (Soak Off Gel Manicure, does not qualify for the overall Winner of Winners). A -0 point judging system will be used: one being the lowest and 0 being flawless. When instructed, competitors are responsible for making sure their model understands the judging procedure and directing them to visit each judge before leaving. Models must not leave the judging area until they have been judged/seen all judges. Any model leaving the judging arena prior to being judged will be disqualified. Nailympia Australasia is not responsible for any competitor not adhering to or understanding the rules.
