What NOT to Wear! Pants may not consist of stretchy denim or legging material. No jeggings. Pants may not have holes or be torn/ripped. For your convenience, we have compiled information that we trust will be helpful as you shop for uniforms. We have made a few changes to the Elementary and Middle School uniforms. This document reflects the current policies. CHANGES TO THE DRESS CODE FOR THE 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR Middle School Grades 6 th -8 th now have the option to wear navy blue polo shirts on Wednesday for chapel day. This is the last year that green chapel cardigan/vest will be an option to wear. Forest Green and Gray P.E. T-shirts and Sweatshirts are not permitted. (these colors were phased out a few years ago) Only approved sweatshirts, fleece vests/jackets with logos, and cardigan/sweaters may be worn to school. Coats may be worn for warmth outside for recess but NON- sweatshirts will no longer be permitted. DRESS CODE INFORMATION ATTACHMENTS The attached uniform information sheets have been designed to help you navigate our uniform policies, vendors and specifics to our uniform. DRESS CODE SPECIFICS: This detailed information outlines approved uniform standards for Elementary and Middle School boys and girls. VENDOR SELECTIONS: works with three vendors. This document provides information on where to purchase approved uniforms and how to order them. Read through this information very carefully before shopping and/or ordering uniforms for the school year. (Keep in mind if you purchase items at Tommy Hilfiger Uniforms, Creative Logo Solutions or Dennis Uniform, you must order ONLY approved uniforms. PE Uniforms and Spirit Wear: All official (with * logo) P.E. T-shirts and Sweatshirts must be ordered from Creative Logo Solutions. Fleece zipper down vests/jackets in red or navy blue may be purchased from Creative Logo Solutions, Tommy Hilfiger or Dennis Uniforms and may be worn on non-chapel days in the classroom. * Logo refers to the compass logo, initials or Gator Athletics Screen printing. Free Dress Days: HERE S YOUR STARTING POINT UNIFORM REMINDERS (K-8) FREE DRESS DAYS will continue on the 2 nd Friday of each month. The 4 th Friday will be Walk-a-thon T-shirt day (may only wear the 2017 WAT t-shirt). The 1 st, 3 rd and 5 th Friday of every month is set aside as uniform day.
Length of skirts/skorts/shorts/jumpers/free dress outfits is as follows: From the hem of the garment to the center of the back of the knee, must not exceed 3 inches. This is the minimum length allowed. Garments may be longer if desired. Middle school girls can only wear the Tommy Hilfiger or Dennis specific skirt specified by. No other skirts will be allowed this year. All uniforms and non-uniform (PE and free dress included) must comply with length requirements. PLEASE LABEL YOUR CHILD S CLOTHING We strongly recommend that you label your children s clothing. Unlabeled items are taken to a local charity at the end of every month. Creative Logo Solutions offers monogramming for sweatshirts which is recommended. Dennis Uniforms sells labels that are ideal for labeling all your children s outer clothing items, backpacks, water bottles and lunch boxes. You may also use a sharpie to write clearly on the inside of all clothing items. DRESS CODE COMPLIANCE Every student is given a two week grace period at the beginning of each school year. There are no consequences if a child is out of dress code for the first two weeks of school. Please refer to the Family Handbook or your child s homeroom handbook for consequences for being out of dress code after the grace period is over. Hair must be neat and only in natural tones. Hair must be no longer than the bottom of the collar and above the eyebrows. Hair must not cover the eyes. Flip-flops, slippers or open-toed shoes (with or without back straps) must not be worn to school. Closed toed sandals with back straps may be worn. Free dress days: appropriate, modest clothing. No tight or sagging pants/shorts*. No extremes. No Tank tops. On chapel days, the cardigan or vest with initials may be worn with the polo shirt or blazer worn with white dress shirt in chapel if needed for warmth. All other outerwear may not be worn in chapel. Classroom approved outerwear-(may be worn every day of the week in class) P.E. sweatshirts, sportswear, fleece vests/jackets and cardigan vests/sweaters are the only approved items to wear to school. A coat may be worn to recess for warmth. Dress Shirts are optional. Must be purchased from Tommy Hilfiger Uniforms or Dennis Uniforms. No tight or sagging pants/shorts*. No skinny pants. Length of shorts: Measuring from the middle of the back of the knee, clothing must not be any shorter than 3 inches above the knee. Garments may be longer if desired.
