BUGC DRESS CODE We believe that an appropriately dressed student will help promote a better and safer learning environment. There is a lot of interpretation of what an appropriate dress code should look like for a school. What one person interprets as inappropriate for school wear may be perfectly reasonable to another. To minimize these controversies, BUGC has implemented protocols to ensure student attire meets standards that focus on work and productivity with the concept that this is a place of business for young adults, but still allows students sufficient freedom of expression in their clothing choices. The following guidelines are not intended to be entirely inclusive of all dress code situations. The school administration retains the final discretion to determine if the garment or accessory meets the dress code. Some exceptions may be made for athletics, special events, dances, and spirit weeks. The following guidelines pertain to attire during the school day and at school-sponsored activities. Shorts and Skirts Shorts or skirts must minimally reach to a student s mid-thigh for appropriate length when measured as the halfway point from the center top inseam to the top of the knee.
