In 2010, Kimberly-Clark Professional Australia made a $5,000 donation to UNICEF s Water and Sanitation Appeal in conjunction with our Hand Hygiene Pledge program. This program educated HealthCare Workers on the importance of hand hygiene and encouraged them to make a non monetary pledge for hand hygiene symbolising their focus on keeping their patients free from the spread of infection. Kimberly-Clark Australia matched each pledge with a monetary donation to UNICEF. Unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation are two of the biggest problems facing impoverished people in many parts of the world. UNICEF s Water and Sanitation Program has already made real progress in this area, helping establish facilities in schools and homes and creating fresh water supplies where needed.
