Vibe Bredahl The Journey 7 February - 1 March 2008
The type cases facing the street consist of real type cases as well as photos of typecases that have been partly or totally emptied afterwards. The objects are now to be found in the exhibition inside. What you see from the outside is thus repeated and mirrored on the inside. 2

Vibe Bredahl The Journey February 7 March 1, 2008 We are pleased to present a major solo exhibition by the Danish artist Vibe Bredahl (b. 1974). Her show in Martin Asbæk Projects is like entering a Wunderkammer or art cabinet of the kind that every European prince would possess some decades ago. Here you were able to find curiosities from his native country mixed with more exotic items like for instance a necklace of beetle wings from Brazil or a microscope in silver and ebony. Vibe Bredahl s The Journey presents a similar accumulation of odd and wonderful objects, drawings and photos. The works are presented in a total installation forming a thematically connected whole where mirrors and repetition of motifs in and out of different medias make everything seem like a magical web expanding in front of the beholder. The Journey starts already in the windows facing the street where gigantic green type cases stuffed with objects - as well as photos of cases stuffed with objects - are inviting people to step inside Bredahl s art cabinet. On the inside you will however find the same objects as exhibited on the outside. Now playfully transformed into other medias and placed in a new context. 21
