LETTER FROM THE TEAM Thank you for your interest in Journey to Mastery, an educational concept that we ve been developing for many years, and that we are very passionate about. At Oribe Hair Care, we believe that Mastery describes the achievement of becoming fluent on a wide range of techniques. The Journey to Mastery contains three chapters of intensive sessions designed to create a growth path for stylists to perfect their artistry. The curriculum combines the perfect blend of core technical skills with editorial inspiration, that remains authentic to the brand s heritage. We feel this theme represents our desire for self-growth and continuous learning. Learning expedites our personal growth and enhances our careers. Ultimately, it allows us to approach our work from a position of confidence and discipline. We have gathered some of the biggest talents in the industry to guide and support stylists through their journey. Ongoing practice and education will enable stylists to develop their artistic lens, and ultimately translate any look into a wearable style behind the chair. Journey to Mastery CHAPTER I The Essentials Whether styling behind the chair, backstage, or on set, the essential foundations must be truly understood in order to be mastered. We have curated the most fundamental classic and modern techniques that can be incorporated into a stylist s daily work and become the core of their artistry throughout their career. These sessions are designed for anyone eager to learn new techniques or polish their existing skills. 5
CHAPTER I / THE ESSENTIALS Foundations Styled on their own or used as a base for an upstyle, these techniques are crucial to all aspects of hairdressing. This comprehensive two-day session will guide you step by step through the core foundations essential to both classic and modern hairdressing. Setting Master the irons and understand the art of setting in this intensive worshop, designed to explore a wide range of techniques from effortless waves to classic sets. All sets are equally stunning on their own or when used to incorporate texture into any upstyle. 6
Journey to Mastery Braiding This highly intensive session was conceived by Global Ambassador James Pecis and features his favored approach to braiding. This two-day workshop covers the essential to advanced techniques for fast and flawless execution. Stylists will leave with confidence and a comprehensive understanding of braiding. Weft Extensions A versatile approach to incorporating weft extensions into a variety of wearable looks. Stylists explore the art of adding wefts to existing hair creating dramatic changes for salon, special occasion or editorial styling. Master these progressive techniques that relate to all types of extension applications. 7
Journey to Mastery CHAPTER II Runway to Salon Build upon The Essentials to create wearable looks that draw inspiration from the latest editorial and runway styles. Stylists will learn to translate each aspect into their work, tailoring the looks to fit their client s personal taste. All styles are designed to be executed within a standard styling appointment timeframe. Explore the interpretations of styling throughout the three one-day sessions in Chapter II. 9
CHAPTER II / RUNWAY TO SALON Retro Elegance A modern take on classic styling, this session explores timeless, sophisticated upstyles specifically designed for formal occasions. Using a comprehensive set of advanced techniques, stylists will create two red carpet-worthy looks, ideal for the client who wants to arrive looking poised and confident. Effortless Chic This session showcases a series of highly versatile, informal upstyles. Once mastered, these youthful looks can be swiftly transitioned, making them a perfect fit for clients with an active lifestyle who prefer to keep it casual.
Journey to Mastery Androgyny An edgier approach to formal styling, these modern looks are perfect for the fashionable, downtown client gearing up for a night out on the town. Stylists will deconstruct a classic Rockabilly look and reinterpret it to create updated feminine styles. 11
Journey to Mastery CHAPTER III Editorial (Ob)sessions Dive headfirst into this highly advanced, inspirational series designed to give a behind-the-scenes look into the world of session styling. The techniques are comprised of the collective knowledge of editorial masters who have generously shared their insider knowledge over the years. The four one-day workshops in Chapter III are designed to boost creativity and enhance one s artistry. 13
CHAPTER III / EDITORIAL (OB)SESSIONS Tailored Wigs An introduction to the art of tailoring wigs and pieces. Stylists will master how to prepare, cut and tailor faux bangs and transform a wig into a modern look all while achieving natural, believable results. Runway Report: Spring/Summer An in-depth review of the latest Fashion Week trends fresh off of the international runways. Stylists will explore, analyze and replicate the season s most buzzworthy creations with the help of the Oribe editorial team. Consider it a front row seat to the entire Spring/Summer season.

Journey to Mastery ON SET: A Milestone An exclusive opportunity for stylists who have completed The Journey! These privileged stylists will be invited to honor this milestone by participating in an exclusive, complimentary two-day photo session with one of The Mentors of Oribe Hair Care. The workshop includes personalized guidance through the entire shoot process from conceptualization to technical approach and on-set instruction in front of the camera. In homage to their artistry, stylists will enjoy a personal set of photographs for their book, which will also be featured in The Portfolio.
