For those who frequent our space throughout the year, Helikon s year-end exhibits have become extremely well known. Featuring the very best in talent from around the U.S., as well as promising artists from Colorado, each year we pair the annual Muses of Mount Helikon exhibit with a themed group showing of locals. About MUSES OF MOUNT HELIKON IV: Helikon Gallery is proud to announce the next installment of our year-end, definitive group exhibit of inspiring and influential contemporary artists known as Muses of Mount Helikon IV. This annual show is an invite-only exhibit of artists from across the United States, known for being large, eclectic, colorful, and featuring high-level work in the illustrative arts - a loose term encompassing portraiture, figurework, illustration, and narrative, imaginative artwork. The Muses were Greek goddesses of inspiration said to dwell upon Mount Helikon. In accordance with this classical myth, Muses III has no restriction on theme or concept, but rather serves as an encouragement for artists to show their newest and most expressive personal works. Artist List: Brian Hart, Michael Reedy, Daliah Ammar, Lauren YS, John Park, Graham Yarrington, Hollie Chastain, Michael Marsicano, Jonathan McAfee, Raleigh Gardiner, Scott Bakal, Velia De Iuliis, ColorOrgy, Gel Jamlang, Joe Vaux, Johnie Thornton, Lauren Hess, Robert St. John, and Nana Williams. Receptions: Opening reception, Thursday, November 3 (6-10pm); 1st Friday, November 4 (6-10pm); 1st Friday, December 2 (6-10pm). Receptions are free and open to the public including food and drinks.
